Disclaimer: Sadly, not mine. Even though I probably think more about Yukimura than Konomi himself does. :l
Notes: Orange Range is a Japanese band. Also, it's Marui's favourite band.

".. their song Hana is quite good too. Oh, and I saw the live version of Asterisk a few weeks ago."
"Hiya, Yukimura."
Jackal and Marui greeted their captain, who was merrily chatting with someone on the other end of the phone. He gave them an aknowledging nod and giggled at something the other person said.
"Mm, yes. Alright. I'll borrow it from you the next time, then. Thank you. Bye." He ended the call and turned to face his friends. Marui sat on the bench next to him.
"What were you talking about?"
"Music. A friend of mine bought some new CDs recently, and she asked if I'd like to borrow them. She always complains about my taste in music, so she's trying to offer me something else for a chance." Sure, classic music wasn't exactly IN in the world of young people at the moment, but Yukimura still found it comforting. It wasn't his problem if other people couldn't appreciate Mozart like he did, but he figured it wouldn't exactly hurt him to try something new every once in a while either.
"You were talking about Orange Range, right?" Jackal gave him a knowing smile and both Marui and Yukimura quirked their eyebrows at him.
"True. How did you know?"
"Hana and Asterisk are sung by them and I heard you mention them." Jackal pointed at Marui. "He used to listen to that Asterisk song all the time last year."
Marui grinned. "Then I got bored of it and found Onegai! Señorita, and you asked me to stop listening to it, since it was 'too embarrassing'."
Jackal snorted.
"But yeah, Yukimura. I didn't know you liked Orange Range too?"
"They have some funny songs", Yukimura smiled apologetically as he continued, "even though their style isn't.. exactly one of my favourites. I wouldn't call myself a fan."
Jackal blinked.
"Huh? But when you were in the hospital, I heard you talking heatedly about Orange Range with Yanagi and Sanada quite often. I thought it'd be rude to interrupt their visits, though, so I always waited until they left before coming in. And Bunta always told me to stay behind during those visits anyway."
Marui and Yukimura both stared at him and Jackal blinked again.
"What?"
Yukimura's gaze dropped to the ground and Jackal could see his cheek burning crimson. Marui looked slightly flushed too.
".. what?"
"Maybe it's because you're fluent in English..." Marui shook his head and cleared his throat, ready to remind Jackal of the japanese pronunciation. "Orange Range. Oh Renji Renji."
".. oh. Oh."
