The current scene is set after the final battle, when Miroku and Sango already have their family.

Hundreds of years ago, feudal Japan was thrown into a warring state when all forms of local lords tried to conquer land for themselves. This period was known as the "Sengoku Jidai", or the "Warring states period". Life during the warring state was hard. From time to time, soldiers passed by and rampaged the village. The sight of burning villages and dead corpses have become as common as seeing mosquitoes every night. But luckily enough for a village in the East, no wars have yet extended its claws there.

Harvest season approached with rich results: fruits and vegetables of all types. If things goes well, all these provisions would be more than enough to support the villagers through the whole year. The whole village bustled with life and excitement. The women and girls of the village prepared for the harvest celebration held during the night whilst the male counterparts of the village began picking the year's results.

"Daddy, look what I have got!" A young girl about the age of 5, short hair barely covering the ear, ran up to her father with a dead frog between her little hands. Her twin came closely behind, panting hardly.

"It's quite...interesting..." Miroku grimaced slightly, taking the frog away and disposing it in a nearby bush, He was surprisingly young and good-looking for a father, and he had his hair tied up into a short ponytail at the back. His apparel significantly differed from the men in the village; it was that of a priest's clothing that he had wore while he was still in his traveling years. But now, he had decided to settle down with a woman of his dreams and start a family.

"But daddy! I slew that frog, it was my prize!" The young girl protested. She had always wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps, to become a true female warrior.

"That is enough! Go and wash yourself," Sango was obviously watching the whole commotion from behind a tree. She was a woman in her late 20s, beautiful and strong from her years of training as a warrior.

The two twins shuffled off, the one previously carrying a dead frog muttering something dark. They head back to the village leader's hut, and Kaede -an old woman in her 60s- ushered them inside. The two twins and their baby brother have been left in the care of the old woman ever since they were young, learning all types of medicinal skills from her.

The moon centered itself in the sky, accompanied by the blinking stars. The atmosphere in the village was ringing with anticipated joy as the celebrations starts. Piles of food were carried out and a big bonfire was set at the center of the village. Children scattered about with last touch-ups, some in such a hurry that they almost trip the adults.

Soon enough, the dance started. Everyone in the village, whether young or old, took up the rhythm of the dance and in no time, couples were flying across the dance floor, filled with ecstasy.

"Mind a dance?" Miroku extended his hand towards his wife.

"Why not?" Sango laughed as she accepts her husband's offer and allow herself to be led to the dancing floor.

They whirl, they twirl and they dance with great enthusiasm, letting the bonfire lit their laughing faces and bathing themselves in the moonlight. They received many awed and envious stares from by watchers, including their best friends Inuyasha and Kagome.

The dance ended and Miroku kissed Sango lightly on the forehead.

"So what do you say about my request?"

"Well, I have already fulfill that bargain 3 times," the wife replied softly.
