Boredom's Antics

Walking down the hall of their new headquarters Parker took her time. She was very bored due to the lack of jobs and she was itching for action. Stopping, she scanned the hall and doorways carefully. When she didn't see anyone she turned around and took a deep breath.

Sitting at her desk Sophie kicked her feet up and tapped her pen. Nate being gone had put her in a seemingly endless solemn mood. The lack of jobs had been a double hit, leaving her with nothing to take her mind off of the absent Nate. Sighing she lifted her head and looked out her door to the hallway just in time to see Parker back flip past. Frowning Sophie stood and leaned against the doorframe. "What are you doing Parker?" she questioned the blond.

Turning at Sophie's voice Parker shrugged, "Nothing," she said bluntly. Sighing she looked up to vent above her head. As the idea struck she reacted, jumping once the pushed the vent's cover away and with the second jump she shimmied into the ventilation shaft disappearing.

Shaking her head Sophie turned and made her way down the hall. Everyone was beginning to get restless with the lack of work. Parker was diffidently no exception. Turning into the kitchen she slowed her steps when she saw Eliot in an apron. With a side smile she leaned a hip against the counter. "Make anything good?" she questioned, gaining his attention.

Seeing Sophie Eliot shrugged, "I wouldn't know. I don't eat it," he admitted.

Pulling up a stool Sophie sat down. "How would you like a taste tester?" she asked as she eyed the many plates he had covering the counter.

Stopping his movement Eliot eyed Sophie, "You're just here because you're hungry, right?" he asked.

Shrugging I response Sophie chuckled as Eliot handed her one of the many plates.

Passing the kitchen Hardison rolled his eyes. A guy like Eliot cooking, it was just embarrassing. Shaking his head he continued down the hall. As he shifted the pile of papers under his arm he paused. Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to print off the entire system code. As a noise sounded above him he had no time to react before something fell in front of him from the ceiling.

Dropping from the vent Parker winced on landing from the high pitched scream that erupted. Straightening, she looked to Hardison. His eyes wide, his mouth still agape from the scream. Narrowing her eyes she tilted her head and gave him her ^Did YOU really just do that?^ look.

Hearing the scream Eliot and Sophie hurried from the kitchen to see what was the matter. Stopping behind Hardison Eliot looked to Parker. "What happened? Why'd you scream?" he asked.

Jerking her gaze to Eliot Parker instantly looked offended. "That wasn't me," she said bluntly.

As all eyes turned to Hardison he tried to collect his wits. "What? She dropped down out of the ceiling… I wasn't expecting it!" he tried to explain.

"Man, that's not cool," said Eliot as he slowly shook his head.

Looking to Eliot, Hardison took in his appearance. "Oh, and a guy in an apron covered in food is?" he questioned sarcastically.

Looking down to himself Eliot let out a breath before he looked back to Hardison. "Don't cross the line," he warned in a low voice.

"Oh I crossed the line," countered Hardison. Suddenly Eliot began advancing on Hardison, who in turn took off at high speed, dropping his papers as he went.

Watching them go Sophie placed her hands on her hips. "Maybe we should…" she began.

Nodding Parker sighed, "Yeah." With that they both took off after the guys.

They all had needed something to do.

Problem solved.
