Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Not So Hasty Cakes" from Season 7. Enjoy and comment.

It was wintertime on the Island of Sodor, and all the engines on Sir Topham Hatt's railway were working hard.

The snow made their work hard, but they still kept on working, despite all the ice and snow, to deliver passengers and goods to their destinations on time.

This made all the engines feel really useful.

One day, Elizabeth pulled in with Thomas's snowplow.

"I don't need that silly old snowplow!" huffed Thomas.

"Nonsense!" snapped Elizabeth. "Really useful engines always need their snowplow when it snows!"

This made Thomas very cross.

"I'm really useful, but I don't like my snowplow!"

"Elizabeth is really rude!" thought Thomas to himself, "and this snowplow makes my buffer ache!"

Thomas puffed into Maithwaite Station, where Sir Topham Hatt was there, talking to Elizabeth.

"The Sodor Cake Factory is snowed in, and their Christmas cakes must get to the docks before the ships leave for the mainland!"

"Let me do it!" exclaimed Thomas.

"You must stay on your branch-line Thomas." said Sir Topham Hatt. "Elizabeth knows the roads well, and is really useful."

"I'm really useful too!" huffed Thomas.

"But not useful enough!" chuffed Elizabeth as she drove away.

Now Thomas was crosser than ever.

The snow was falling heavily, but Thomas arrived at every station on-time.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth was struggling on the roads.

Her wheels didn't like the slippery ice at all.

When Thomas arrived at the docks to pick up Terence, he was surprised to see that Elizabeth wasn't there.

Everyone was concerned, including Sir Topham Hatt.

"The ship will miss the tide!" said the dock manager.

"And the children won't get their cakes." said Sir Topham Hatt. "Thomas, go find Elizabeth at once!"

"Yes sir!" answered Thomas as he puffed away.

At the cake factory, Elizabeth was piled high with cakes.

"I must not be late!" thought Elizabeth as she set onto the roads.

The roads were even more icier, and soon, Elizabeth was on a steep hill.

The driver applied the brakes, but it was too late! Elizabeth fell down the hill, and into a snowbank!

Poor Elizabeth!

Thomas and Terence puffed through the snow, in search of Elizabeth.

They couldn't see Elizabeth at all.

Soon, they spotted Elizabeth's driver, waving a red flag.

"Elizabeth is stuck under the snow!" explained her driver. "I need help to dig her out!"

In no time, Terence managed to bring Elizabeth to safety!

"We must hurry!" exclaimed Thomas. "It's not your fault for the accident Elizabeth."

Elizabeth felt much better.

Thomas puffed at warp speed back to the docks.

They arrived at the docks, just in time!

Sir Topham Hatt was pleased to see the cakes, and that Elizabeth was safe.

"We'll unload you immediately!" he said.

"Now the children will get their Christmas cakes!" said Thomas.

"Well done!" said Sir Topham Hatt.

"Thank you sir!" said Elizabeth, "and thank you Thomas! We are both really useful!"

Thomas happilly agreed!
