After Zira fell into the river she was swept along with the current. The raging waters pounded against her, tossing her against logs that were floating around her. After what seemed like forever, the raging rapids died down and became a gentle stream. Zira, completely exhausted from fighting to keep her head above the water, paddled over to the bank of the river and pulled herself onto the shore. She passed out soon as she laid her head on the dirt.

She slept there for hours. When she woke up, some of her strength had returned. She looked around her, trying to remember how she got here. Then she remembered. Kovu had betrayed her. Vitani had betrayed her. All of her fellow outlanders had betrayed her. She had tried to attack Simba, but that horrid daughter of his, Kiara, had stopped her and caused her to fall of the cliff.

Zira had thought for sure that she would die, but she hadn't. She had survived. She checked her body for broken bones. She didn't feel any. She chuckled to herself. She still had one more chance to kill Simba and take her revenge. The Pride Landers probably all thought she was dead. Simba wouldn't be suspecting her to come in the night and kill him in his sleep.

Suddenly Zira heard something strange. She looked around her and saw a human made machine called a jeep approaching. It stopped about twenty meters away and a couple of humans got out. Zira was hungry and would have attacked one of them, but they were all holding guns. They had obviously seen her because she could see them pointing at her.

Zira quickly lost interest in the humans and got up to leave to put her new plan into action. Suddenly she felt a sharp prick in her flank. She jumped in surprise. Looking over her shoulder, she saw a pointy thing with a pink feather on it sticking out of her flank. She realized she must have been shot by one of the humans. She would have gotten angry if she weren't suddenly getting so drowsy. She started getting dizzy and the world started spinning. She collapsed as the tranquilizer took effect and she fell unconscious.

When Zira woke up, she found herself in a completely different place. She was on a small savanna-like landscape. Surrounding the landscape was a deep ditch. And surrounding the ditch was a high wall. Walking around, up behind the wall, she could see humans. There were lots and lots of humans. They were all starring at her with smiles on their faces. Beyond the humans were other enclosures and cages, all of them containing other various animals.

Zira was officially freaked out now. Looking around her, she noticed other lions in the enclosure. A lioness came up to her whit a friendly look on her face.

"Hello," said the lioness. "I see you're finally awake."

"Where the heck am I?" asked Zira.

"Welcome to the Philadelphia zoo. My name is Aleu. I'm sure we will be good friends."

"I find that hard to believe," said Zira.

"This is your fist time in a zoo, isn't it?"

"Yes."

"Don't worry. You'll get used to it. We get to relax all day and we don't have to hunt. The humans feed us."

"Really?" Zira was intrigued.

Aleu showed her the pile of meat that had recently been laid out for them. As Zira dug into the meat she thought to herself, "I could get used to this."

The End
