Hey all! Yes, El Muso loves her NIDA babies still. This was born because my Dad and I always speculate about what the good lady did to her finger to earn a Band-Aid in Second Bite.

Summary: How Amanda cut her finger during Second Bite.

Spoilers: None.

Ship: Do you have to ask? Amanda & Simon.

Simon noticed the small red drops on the report they were reading before his colleague did.

"Um, Amanda?" He indicated her finger, which she'd cut on the page without realising it.

"Oh. Shit." She muttered, trying to clean the page and only managing to make it worse. Simon wrapped a long-fingered hand around her wrist, and repositioned her so her bleeding index finger was pointing skywards.

"Suck on it for a minute. I'll find you a Band-Aid."

"Thanks." Amanda murmured gratefully before doing as he'd instructed and putting her finger in her mouth. At the very least she wasn't going to do any further damage to the report.

In less than a minute Simon returned from his quest, successful. He sat beside her at the conference room table, twisting her chair so she faced him.

"May I?" The question was so earnest and gentlemanly that she couldn't help but smile and relinquish her hand to him.

"Of course. How often do you get an eminent surgeon bandaging a paper cut for you?"

His touch was tender, his fingertips lightly brushing her skin as he positioned her hand and then carefully secured the flesh-coloured object around her small wound. Idly she wondered why he was taking such care with her. It was only a paper cut, after all.

Simon ran his fingers around the freshly affixed Band-Aid to ensure it was secure and studied his handiwork. He made a small noise in the back of his throat – satisfaction with the job, Amanda was sure. She could picture him making the noise in blood soaked scrubs after hours of laborious surgery. She was about to pull her hand away and thank him when he did something that caught her entirely by surprise. He encased her hand in both of his, brought it to his lips, and brushed a tender kiss to her fingertips.

Amanda's head spun.

Simon.

Boundary abiding Simon.

He'd just kissed her.

Sort of...

His head – which had remained bent throughout the entire application – rose, a smile in his eyes and the whisper of one on his lips.

"That should do the trick."

Amanda could only manage to nod with a smile, and as soon as he wasn't watching, sneak the hand to her own lips, wondering what it would be like if they cut out the middle man.
