Zarinthia

Chapter 1- The Beggining
They finnally got to the cave. James said, "Out of all the caves to hold my present, it had to be the darkest, creepiest cave in Cavern Canyon!". "It will be totally worth it when you see your present." said DJ. Today was James's 17th birthday and his best friend wanted to give him the best birthday present in the world.
They lived in a magical land were magical creatures and mortals lived together. It was the worst for everyone though, because the magical ruler, Zyth, his daughters, Scarlet, Angel, and Jessy, and his son Dleon, the next to become Emperor, wanted it so that the mortals, which have no powers, would become the magical creatures slaves, especially to the witches and warlocks. the Emperor Zyth was a very powerful Warlock that planned to use his powers for evil and enslave all magical creatures and mortals except Witches and Warlocks. They had rules against magical creatures and mortals befriending each other and that if a magical creature was even seen talking to a mortal they would be sent to the dungeon and the mortal would be sent back to the motal world. If a mortal and a creature had kids, the kids were killed, the creature would be turned into a mortal human, and the mortals were sent to the mortal world No one wanted to go to the mortal world because even though Zarinthia was a bad place to be, the mortal world was even worse, with the wars destroying the world and everyone in it.
DJ was a witch. She was one of the more beautiful witches and all the warlocks wanted to be with her, but she was interested in one person, her friend, James. They had known each other since they were babies. Up until everyone got their powers she had thought that he was a warlock. When she got her powers she was only ten years old, and she was the youngest witch or warlock that got her powers ever. She was shocked to find out that all the other witches and warlocks in her class had gotten their powers and the normal age of thirteen while James did not. It was not to much later that James' parents told James and DJ that James was not a warlock but a human that they had adopted when the war in the mortals world had started. Two more years passed and the new Emperor came to be, Emperor Zyth. One of the first decrees that he made was that no mortal shall associate with a creature from Zarinthia. Because of this, DJ and James had to keep their friendship a secret. and James parents almost lost James.
DJ's mother was a mortal so she did not get to see her much, but her dad was a warlock. They came from a very special family. They came from the family that created Zarinthia, the Cortillia's. The Cortillia's are the most powerful family of witches and warlocks in the known dimensions. Supposedly someone in the Cortillia renounced the title of royalty because they did not want the rest of the family to have to go through what she had to. There was a group of thirteen that wanted her to use her powers against her to take over the kingdom. So she renounced her title and gave it to one of her best friends. Little did she know that her best friend was working for the Serenity ( as they like to call themselves).
DJ did not like her dad that much. She barely knew him anymore because he was always at work, but when she did see him he would talk to her about marrying a powerful "warlock". She knew what he really was. He was really a vampire. He told DJ's dad that he was a warlock, and that his dad was a very powerful waolock that got killed when trying to defeat the Serenity. She knew he was a part of the Serenity and that he was trying to get closer to the Crtillia's so that the Serenity could take their powers.
