Disclaimer: All I own is the idea

"Charlotte," a very pregnant Miranda called, "wait up. I want to talk to you"

Charlotte stopped to let Miranda catch up.

"What's up 'randa," Charlotte said after Miranda caught her breath.

"Sit down," Miranda said as Charlotte did

"What do you need to talk to me about?"

"Charlotte Steve and I were talking about it last night. At this point of our life a baby is not practical. We know how hard you've been trying to have a baby and we want to give him to you"

"You-you what?"

"Steve and I want to give Braidy to you"
"Braidy?"

"That's the name we decided on for the baby. I mean you can change the name if you want. It was just an idea"

"You know what," Charlotte said, "I like that name. It was your older brother's name wasn't it"

"Younger brother," Miranda corrected, "he died last year"

"Then why did he call you his little sister?"

Miranda laughed

"My brother was 6'7. I was 5'4. Little sister was his nickname for me because I was so short. I was his big little sister."

Charlotte laughed

She remembered how distraught Miranda was when her brother died.

"I like the name Braidy," she said, "I'll go with that name"

"Thank you," Miranda said, "That means a lot to me"

Just then Miranda's water broke

"Oh my GOD! I'm in labor!"

Charlotte and Miranda hopped in Miranda's car and Charlotte drove Miranda to the hospital.

10 hours of labor and it was time for Miranda to push.

"Come on," the doctor said, "one more push and the baby will be out"

Miranda pushed and Braidy came sliding out.

Miranda received the baby held him for a few minutes and then handed the baby to Charlotte

"Congratulations Charlotte," she said, "Your son is so beautiful"

So began the beginning of Charlotte's life as a mother. So began an act of friendship
