Title: Luv Ya
Pairing: Matt/Mello
Summary: Whenever they get a chance to relax, they take it.
Notes: I own nothing.
Their lives are too hectic for their own good. As children they're groomed as candidates for the next L. And when they're teenagers, Mello is running with the mafia, Matt never too far behind. They're legally adults now, though they've felt grown up for a long time. Mello's trailing after Kira, trying to beat Near, and Matt's following Mello like he always has, like a well-trained puppy. And he doesn't mind that, it was his own choice, but they're always doing something, hardly a moment to themselves.
So it's moments like this, lazy moments when they don't need to leave their apartment or watch some surveillance tapes, that resonate with them. They can just lie on the couch, and Matt will put aside his games for a few minutes and drag Mello into his lap. The blonde will usually kick up a bit of a fuss but not really mean it, and lay down with his back pressed to Matt's chest.
They cuddle up, warm body wrapped around warm body, and talk. Sometimes about nothing, sometimes about everything, but always soft spoken conversations that fill the silent apartment with a warm presence.
Lazy words of affection spoken in the peaceful moments.
Because their lives are too hectic for their own good.
