Disclaimer: I do not and will never own Sailor Moon.
A/N: Okay...I just wanted to say thanks for all the reviews I've gotten so far. I also wanted to say that not all of these drabbles are connected. For example, this one has no connection to any of the others as of yet. I will let you know if one is a sequal to another like I did with 'Sweet 16'...just to answered any unasked questions. Anyways, I hope you guys like this one.
Behind the Blue Curtain
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining with little to no clouds in the sky, and the wind was just enough to keep people comfortable. Almost every house in every neighborhood had their windows open to let the fresh air in; including Tokyo's very own #1 bachelor.
Darien Shields sat on the floor in front of his coffee table surrounded by papers. Unfortunately, he was one of the few people who couldn't get out and enjoy the wonderful day. Instead he was stuck in his apartment working on his final paper for his Astronomy class. To make up for the lack of sun and fresh air, he opened his balcony door and let the gentle breeze wash away the stress and tension of life.
The only problem was…the breeze was causing more stress than releasing. Every time it picked up, important papers would go flying and Darien would have to chase them around the room and put them back into order again. Finally getting fed up, he stalked over to the door and pulled the blue curtain halfway closed. This allowed the wind to come in without coming into contact with his work.
Darien sighed as he sat back down leaning up against the sofa behind him. He slowly reached for his can of soda, as he tried to relax and focus on nothing. He took a drink and set back to work on his paper; hoping that he could finish it in the near future.
The paper was actually starting to progress when light laughter interrupted Darien's concentration. He shook his head, ridding the sound from his mind, and started looking over some more information on the Main Star Stream and its relationship to the Sun.
Again, laughter was heard from outside, interrupting the ebony haired man. Not understanding how the sound of the city wouldn't even bother him, but this laughter was able to; Darien became frustrated. He took another drink of his soda and tried to get back to work. He didn't get very far though, because the laughter ensued.
Giving in to curiosity, Darien lifted himself up and slowly made his way to the sliding glass doors.
'Let's see what's behind the blue curtain,' he thought with a wry grin as his fingers slowly grasped the seamed edge of the drapery. He pulled it back and let his eyes roam trying to find the culprit of the distracting laughter.
What he found wasn't really what he was expecting, though his brain told him he should have. His eyes came in contact with a pair of golden buns with cascading pony-tails. Automatically, he knew he had become distracted so easily because of what was behind the blue curtain. For, behind the blue curtain was…his heart.
A/N: Well, that was it. Let me know what you guys thought. Ialways love to getfeedback. :)
Toodles,
KiwiKol
