Hi guys this is my first fanfiction, hope you like it :)

this story takes place after the events of the third movie.

Sid the sloth woke up from a good nights sleep (though he had slept until well into the afternoon ). He got up and walked outside of the cave that the herd were currently staying in. Outside Manny, Ellie and Peaches were eating breakfast. "Morning" said Sid sleepily. "Morning ?" questioned Manny "Sid it's 3 in the evening" . Sid shrugged and headed into the village centre.

The village centre was situated in a clearing surrounded by forest. In it there was pools and slides. Animals were everywhere. Kids playing, adults gossiping, some eating and others arguing. Sid made his way over to an apple tree to get some breakfast (or lunch, or whatever meal he was eating ) when something caught his eye.

It was a sloth. A female sloth.

She had a reddish-brownish pelt with big brown eyes. Her hands were behind her back and she was staring straight at Sid.

Now as far as sloths ar concerned this sloth was extremely good looking. Unfortunately for Sid, most females good looking or not never wanted anything to do with Sid.

"This one could be different" thought Sid to himself .

He walked over to where she was standing. "Hi, I'm Sid" he said in his usual bubbly voice. The she-sloth giggled. "Hi I'm Lucy". "I haven't seen you around here before" said Sid trying to keep the conversation going. Lucy shook her head. "No, I'm new round here" she answered. "Well Lucy would you like me to show you around" asked Sid excitedly. Lucy giggled again. " It would be an honour" she replied, blinking her big brown eyes. The two sloths headed off and Sid though to himself

"Perfect, this day is just perfect"

Sid decided to show Lucy where the herd lived first of all. He told Lucy that his herd was kind of weird but she just giggled. "I love weird" she said.

The smile on Sids' face got bigger by the second

Soon they reached the herds cave. Outside Crash and Eddie were fencing each other with twigs, Manny and Ellie were arguing wether or not Peaches should be aloud go on a sleepover with her friends ( Manny was arguing that sleepovers were dangerous things and were just a recipie for disaster, Ellie was arguing that they were completely safe and extremely fun), Diego was sleeping on his favourite rock under a big tree. Diego wasn't a lazy person but due to the fact that cats can sleep for 16 hours a day (true fact) sleeping was one of his favourite pass times.

Lucy I want you to meet Manny, Ellie, Peaches, Crash, Eddie and Diego, my herd.

Instead of replying Lucy just stood there frozen on the spot. "Lucy are you ok?" Sid asked worryingly. "Sid...th..th..there's a t..t..tiger over there". Hearing his name Diego got up, he turned around and looked at the sloths. Lucy screamed. "Sid run...it's awake" she said. Diego just looked at Sid with a confused look on his face. "It's ok Lucy, he's my friend, he won't eat you" Sid said casually. Lucy looked at Sid "You're friends with a sabre?, you're crazy, I'm not hanging out with you again". She took one last look at Diego and ran away screaming.

Sids' shoulders drooped. "Smooth" Diego crooned with a grin on his face, Crash and Eddie were rolling on the ground in a fit of laughter.

"Note to self" though Sid to himself, " next time you bring a girl to meet your herd tell her that your have a sabre as a friend, but that he isn't a threat to her before you introduce everybody. Not after!
