He had willingly come along with his coach's granddaughter, Ryuzaki Sakuno, to accompany her into Christmas shopping. It was quite early for some to start shopping by the end of November, but Sakuno only wanted to make sure that everything was set and secure for the December holidays, and she wanted to ensure that she had gotten a present for everyone, her friends, family, and senpai-tachi.
"May I have that please?" she asked, pointing a particular object inside the glass counter. The lady nodded her head and took out the bag from inside, and said firmly, "783 yen, please."
Sakuno gave the exact change to the lady and thanked her customer, "Thank you for coming, and Happy Thanksgiving!"
"Fuji-senpai," Ryuzaki called in a sweet voice, and Fuji's wonder world ended at the sound of her voice. Nodding his head, he followed behind the small girl as it snowed outside, the white snowflakes softly fluttering to the ground.
He continued walking behind her, surprisingly, as he graciously carried most of the Christmas presents in which she had purchased for her loved ones. He hungrily eyed the bag in her right hand, and he wanted her to give it to him so badly. That bag of chocolate pretzels.
No, he wasn't the one for sweets, based on his weird taste buds. But he loved her so much since the first day he saw her face, and got to know her so well that the two had become close friends. Just close friends, nothing less, nothing more. He truly wanted for her to start a relationship with him, and he would be the happiest man on earth. That bag of chocolate pretzels…
He had not come to realize that they had already arrived in front of her house, the snow still falling endlessly.
"Anou…thank you for coming with me today, Fuji-senpai," she said, bowing. Her pigtail braids flowed down with her, and she stood back up straight, blushing.
"You're welcome, Ryuzaki-chan," Fuji said as he placed down the shopping bags next to her, practically surrounding her legs. "Happy Thanksgiving to you, Ryuzaki-chan." He turned his back on her, walking away slowly from the front door of her house.
"…wait!"
He turned his head to see the same girl panting heavily as her face was flushed, her right hand holding…the bag of chocolate pretzels.
"These…are for you…" She held up the bag to him, and when he took it politely from her hands, she sped off immediately, as fast a cheetah could run.
Watching her run, he smiled to himself at her eccentric but cute behavior. Then looking at the neatly tied bag of chocolate pretzels in his hand, he grasped it and held it close to his heart, wishing that the moment would never end.
He hoped that she was ready for him, because he was ready for her.
