3 Rainy Day Man
It was March 3rd and Rinoa Heartilly was having her birthday party. Selphie Tillmitt had to be there by 8:00, and it was 7:15 pm, so she guessed that she would walk to the party, since it was a beautiful, almost Spring, sunny day. As soon as it hit 7:30, rain came down in buckets, drenching poor Selphie.
"Why now???? Why????" Selphie said feeling irritated.
She started to run, but causing her to splash water everywhere, onto her legs and her yellow dress. She stopped and started to cry. She found shelter at a bus stop and looked at her watch. Its 7:44 pm!!! I have to be there by 8:00! Will I make it?? Selphie thought. She started to run again, when a voice persuaded her to stop.
"Selph? Is that you?" The voice said.
Selphie turned around to see Irvine standing underneath an umbrella with a kind of smirk looking smile on his face.
"Y-y-ATCHOO!!!" Selphie suddenly sneezed.
"I'll take that as a yes. Now, hurry and get underneath the umbrella."
Selphie stood there confused. She then slowly walked to Irvine and placed herself underneath the umbrella.
"Good! Now, time's a'wastin!!" Irvine said smiling at Selphie. Selphie smiled back as the two ran to the party. Is he my rainy day man or something like that?? Or is he just a life-saver?? Selphie thought. She looked at him as she ran. He was steady and forward. Why didn't he just leave her there?
Oh well, no time to think about that. She kept on running.
It's a good thing I found her..she looked so cute as she stood there drenched…I guess I'm her rainy day man..Irvine smiled at the thought.
When they finally reached Rinoa's small party cabin in the forest. They stood outside for awhile. I guess he wants to be fashionably late…Selphie laughed.
"I like to hear jokes, tell me some.." Irvine said.
"It's nothing funny.." Selphie smiled.
"So…Selph..am I your…um..uh.."
"Rainy day man? Of course, you are Irvy." Selphie smiled.
Then she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. Not on the cheeks, but on the lips. Irvine didn't want to let go. Selphie did that for him.
"Uh…Selph.."
"Shh.." She placed her fingers on his lips. "Did you hear that?"
A chair fell.
"Zell!! You dimwit!"
Selphie and Irvine turned around and saw faces looking at them. The faces belonged to Squall Leonhart, Rinoa Heartilly, Quistis Trepe, Laguna Loire, Seifer Almasy and Zell Dincht.
"Ooh..Look at the lovebirds!!" Zell grinned at them.
Everyone laughed and Selphie and Irvine walked in hand in hand. He really is my Rainy Day Man…Selphie smiled and hugged her Rainy Day Man…
