This is just a one part story. Thought I would write something a little lighter than my usual dramatic stuff.

Wedded Bliss

"I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss your bride."

The words that Nick and Tess had waited so long to hear finally came from the minister's mouth. They were married.

Nick leaned in and kissed his wife passionately.

"Woohoo!!!" Stevie was the first to scream out "About time I say!." Her comments soon set the rest of the crowd off. Words of support came from all directions.

----------

Tess and Nick smiled at each other. They were so in love, so perfect for each other, everyone could see it.

Tess dug into her slice of wedding cake "You want some?" she asked as she brought it towards Nick's mouth.

Nick smiled "If I say no you might divorce me"

Tess giggled as she moved the cake towards her new husband's mouth. All of a sudden Alex snuck up behind her and yelled "Don't miss Tess!" he bumped her purposely causing the cake to go all over Nick's face.

Alex burst into laughter

"Good one Alex!" Nick groaned

Tess was also laughing. She couldn't help herself.

Tess leaned in and kissed Nick's cake-covered face.

"Mmmm yum" she giggled

Alex rolled his eyes "Do us a favour and get a room"

Tess began to wipe Nick's face with a serviette "Are you trying to get rid of us Alex?" She asked

"Get away" He replied as he took a swig of his beer "Why would I want to do that?"

"Oh you know, so you can have our share of wedding cake, booze, and whatever else you can get your grubby hands on" Answered Nick.

"Hardy ha ha" Alex mumbled as he walked away.

Tess snuggled into Nick's warm arms and looked up at him "So how bout it?" she asked softly

"How bout what?"

Tess rolled her eyes "How bout we take Alex's advice"

"Sounds good" Nick replied as he pulled Tess up from their seat and headed into the house.

---------------

As Tess was about to step through the door at Drovers, she felt a hand quickly grab at her arm.

"Hang on Tess" Nick instructed "If we're going to do this, we're going to do it properly"

Tess turned to look at Nick "You're not carrying me over the threshold Nick" Tess said firmly

"Yes I am" Nick argued "And up the stairs, and into our bed"

"But what about your leg Nick?" Tess asked, concern flooding her face

"Marriage is all about compromise, Tess." Nick grinned before sweeping her into his arms and carrying her into the house.

---------

Tess lay in Nick's warm arms as his arms draped around her and her lovely wedding dress.

Tess couldn't help but smile. She was now Mrs Ryan, Mrs Theresa Charlotte Ryan. It had a nice ring to it.

Her hand ran along Nick's chest as she admired him in his wedding suite. He always looked so handsome when he was dressed in a suite.

"So..." Tess began as she looked into her husbands warm and glowing eyes "What's a married couple to do on the first night of their honey moon?"

"Why ask me? I've never been married" Nick answered with a small chuckle "But since we have the whole house to ourselves for a week, maybe I can think of a few things"

"I hear scrabbles good for the mind" Tess told him softly "We could do that?"

In one quick move Nick rolled over so he was on top of Tess "And I hear that making mad passionate love is good for the soul"

Tess grinned as she began to loosen Nick's tie "Now that sounds good... much better than scrabble... after all we have a whole lifetime to sharpen our minds, we only get one honeymoon."
