Sin-
"It is always like this," She whispers more to herself then to her companion.
"It's your fear holding you back," He says to her, pained.
"I never could keep up pretenses; Not this, not even friendship." Her brows furrow. She hears his words but does not acknowledge; her mined flies back in time, unlocking a long forgotten door. Memories, long since starved, dusty, broken beyond recognition raise their heads weakly, eyes snapping, raging at her. She cringes, eyes lowering to the ground.
"I am sorry," she whispers. "Forgiveness I know I cannot ever hope to ask for. I..." she trails off, staring at the broken creature at her feet. Her eyes snap once, glaze over, becoming Icy and hard. Her lips twist in a cruel sardonic smile. She laughs bitterly in the whining things face. It twists in agony at the high sound. She sneers, shutting the door once more on her past.
"Let it die this time," She thinks as she walks her way to consciousness.
She glances at her companion, face weary, eyes tired. She snorts in contempt and pulls out a cigarette. Shaky fingers fumble with the lighter. She sighs in frustration and tucks the Death Wand behind her ear for safe keeping.
Her lips rise in a sneer. "I have nothing to forgive within myself. I am perfectly satisfied with the choices I have made."
She laughs once, a short staccato burst that echoes throughout the somber room.
"How about you try and explain me why are you so hard on yourself then?" He begs of her.
"No." Her reply is short, her voice hard. "That is something that I cannot do."
"Why do you forbid yourself the happiness?"
She frowns, puzzled. "Because... It is my punishment. Simple, ne?"
"You have nothing to be punished for." He insists. "No matter how checkered the past, we are not supposed to suffer for it forever."
"You do not know me. My sins are vast. Forever… is my price."
"I do not have to know someone to know that no matter what they think they've done, they do not have to carry the guilt forever. It would be strange for them to be left unmarked, yes, but they do not need to punish themselves forever." He tells her, his voice strained with longing. Longing for what, she does not know.
"Do not worry yourself. What is done is done. I have saved many, now I must suffer in peace." She smiled then; a gentle smile, a twisted smile, not quite becoming to her face.
"Exactly! What's done is done, you cannot turn back time but you can make your future all the more better for it... Remember, suffering does not equal atonement."
She stares at him in awe. "You say you love me?"
"Yes." His conviction is firm.
"Prove it." She states, mildly curious.
"How?"
She looks at him sad faced. "Kill her." She points to the reflection in the window's glass. "Kill the beast, the witch in her heart." The reflection flickered, grinning, seemingly laughing.
He took his fist, smashing it against the glass. With the shards he advanced, looking pained. The glass buried itself in her breast. She uttered a soft gasp, her eyes widening.
"I love you." He whispered against her lips, paying no mind to the blood pouring from them, or to the stinging tears falling on her face.
"I love you… So, so much, Leina…"
