Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's the Season 6 episode "Jack Jumps In" which is the first story in "The Pack" series. Enjoy and comment.
It was a beautiful spring morning on the Island of Sodor, and Thomas was excited. He was on his way to collect Jack, a front-loader, and take him to the quarry.
"Right on time Thomas!" said Miss Jenny, the owner of the Sodor Construction Company. This is Jack. He's a front-loader who will be working with the Pack to clear ground for railway lines at the quarry.
"Hello!" said Jack cheerfully. "I'm can load, unload, and carry lots of things."
"I'm Thomas. I can haul and shunt!"
"Let's get you to work Jack." said Miss Jenny.
"Is this your first day working at the quarry?" asked Thomas.
"It's my first time working on the Island of Sodor!" called Jack.
Soon, they arrived at the quarry, Thomas said goodbye to Jack, and set off.
All the machines were hard at work, preparing the site for new railway tracks.
Jack couldn't wait to join in. He scooted over to a big excavator.
"I'm Jack. Can I help?" he asked.
"I don't need any help." said Oliver, "but Byron might need some help."
Byron the bulldozer was moving rock and rubble when Jack came over.
"I'm Jack. Can I help?"
"No!" boomed Bryon. "Try Kelly the crane, he always needs help."
Just then, Kelly the Crane approched with Isobella, the yellow lorry truck.
"I'm Jack. Can I help?"
"Do you mind?" snapped Isobella.
"Ignore her." said Kelly. "Welcome to the Pack. If you need a job to do, the foreman will be glad to assist."
The foreman gave Jack a job working with Alfie the excavator,
"No horseplay, and especially no speeding." warned the foreman. "Now be safe, and get the job done!"
Jack raced off to work with Alfie.
"Safety first!" called the foreman.
Jack soon came over to Alfie.
"I'm Jack. I'm here to help!"
"That's good. Working together will help get the job done faster!" exclaimed Alfie.
Jack and Alfie worked hard and were having fun, when trouble happened. A large dump-truck roared by. His name was Max.
"What are you doing?" called Alfie.
"I'm here to cause trouble!" boomed Max, and he roared towards Jack.
"Watch out!" called Alfie.
Max stopped right on time, but Jack refused to move.
"Stop bullying!" yelled Max.
Max was cross, and zoomed off.
"Hooray for Jack!" cried Alfie.
But later, more trouble occurred. The foreman told Oliver to move some rock, but Jack wanted to move it.
He managed to move the rock, but the sand was too steep, and Jack fell down the hill!
Later, Miss Jenny and Sir Topham Hatt arrived. They were pleased that Jack wasn't hurt, but they were were both very cross.
"You didn't follow the order of safety first, and now you have caused confusion and delay!" boomed Sir Topham Hatt.
"I don't think you're ready to join the Pack yet." said Miss Jenny sternly. "Not after what you just did."
"I'm sorry." said Jack sadly.
"We'll give you a second chance tomorrow." said Sir Topham Hatt, "but if you cause one more mistake, you'll be sent back."
Miss Jenny and Sir Topham Hatt left, leaving a very sad Jack behind.
But the other machines felt sorry for Jack and wanted him to feel happy. They wanted to help Jack get the job done, but that's another story.
