"Here's your classroom, Misaki."
Takahiro led his younger brother to a large room full of kids around the age of seven or eight. A young Misaki clutched his brother's hand tighter. Misaki and Takahiro had just moved to a new city and a new school. The idea of being made fun of for being the new kid scared him.
An older woman with long brown hair in a ponytail caught sight of the two and made her way through the small mess of children. "Why, hello you two. Aww, is someone scared on their first day? It's okay, you'll do just fine. I'm Watanabe-sensei. What's your name?" the lady asked the small brunette cheerfully. It was obvious she was trying to make the timid child more comfortable and succeeded.
"I'm Misaki Takahashi. It's nice to meet you," Misaki said in a quiet whisper. Watanabe smiled and looked at Takahiro.
"I assume you're his brother? I'll write a late pass so you won't get in trouble with your teacher," she said. The female walked into the room to write out a slip.
Takahiro let go of his brother's hand. "Misaki, it'll be fine. Watanabe-sensei is very kind, so you won't be in trouble. Make lots of friends today and do your best!" Takahiro cheered. Misaki looked at his brother with his big, emerald eyes and smiled.
Watanabe returned with a small piece of paper with her signature. "Here you go. Thank you for bringing him," she smiled to Takahiro. He waved to his brother and walked to his classroom. "Let's go Misaki."
Watanabe gently placed her hand on his back and led him inside the room. The kids didn't so much as look at the new student. Everyone was drawing in groups of four or five everywhere in the room. "Why don't you go play with him? He won't draw with the other kids and I don't want him to be alone," the teacher said. She pointed to the corner of the room by a bookcase where a kid was sitting.
He had dirty blonde hair blocking his silver eyes. His face was branded with a scowl directed towards the noisiest groups of artists.
Misaki nodded and slowly made his way to the boy. "H-Hello," Misaki muttered nervously. The boy only glanced at Misaki before returning to his scowling. "What's your name?"
The boy glanced at the brunette again before answering. "Shinobu Takatsuki."
"I'm Misaki Takahashi," the nervous brunette said.
"I never asked you," Shinobu said. Misaki laughed nervously, unsure of how to continue. Luckily, Watanabe came to the rescue.
"Okay children! Let's get to your seats!" she announced. The kids rushed to their seats and Misaki stood up. He had no idea where his seat was. Everyone in the room, except Shinobu, stared at him.
Watanabe smiled and walked to the back of the room. "You'll be next to Shinobu."
Misaki's emerald eyes met a silver glare. He nervously walked over to the desk and quietly said hello again. Shinobu gnashed his teeth and looked at the teacher.
She smiled and clapped her hands together. "Okay everyone! Welcome to second grade!"
Author's Note
I've always wanted to see more of what everyone was like when they were growing up. To me, Junjo Minimum isn't enough. Every character will be featured in this story, even Tsumori and Shinoda. (I somehow made that work :D) I hope you'll enjoy it!
Until next time, sayonara~!
