Just a random drabble...

This is for Jasmine because she's perfect and my best friend and I totally get that school is just like BLEH right now. It is quite stressful. So I hope some Jara will relieve any stress, love. :3

Enjoy! :)

"An eight letter word for cute," Mara asked, crossword puzzle in her lap as she sat in Jerome's lap, legs draped over one arm and her back leaning against the other. Jerome ran a finger from her ankle to her knee and then shrugged.

"I don't know." He murmured, leaning forward and pecking her cheek.

"Jerome, come on, this is the last one. You're like a genius – you can do it." she urged, tapping the pencil on the page.

He chuckled, rubbing her back. "Compared to you, I'm not a genius."

"There's no comparison; you're perfect." She blushed as his finger moved to her thigh and traced small patterns on her exposed skin where her blue skirt had ridden up.

"No you're perfect." He corrected.

"J," she groaned.

"Don't make sounds like that, love." He warned, widening his blue eyes.

"Please answer the question!" she pleaded.

Jerome sighed, shaking his head. He rested his forehead on hers. "I don't know."

"Jerome," she sighed.

"Beansybop," he mimicked her, pressing his lips to hers. And neither made a move to break the kiss. Jerome's hand moved from her back to her neck, pulling her closer to him.

Mara's heart pounded in her chest, for two different reasons. First, she couldn't believe how lucky she was to have a guy as amazing as Jerome Clarke; oh, she loved him so much. And second, was she doing this right? This was the first time their kisses had escalated from a peck.

Jerome's finger stopped tracing over her skin and flattened, stroking up to her knee and then back, but a little farther each time.

And then the most embarrassing thing happened.

Hiccup!

Mara jerked her head back, covering her mouth. Her cheeks burned as she sat there, absolutely humiliated.

Jerome watched her, his lips swollen. He blinked and then his eyes roamed over red face. "What's wrong?"

"I hiccupped!" a hiccup followed her outburst. And right when I had worked up the courage to do that…thing…that he had done…with his tongue…

Jerome chuckled, cupping her scorching cheeks. "Darling, don't worry about it."

"But it's so—hiccup—embarrassing!"

"It's alright, baby," he cooed, brushing her hair out of her eyes. He pecked her forehead and then took the crossword out of her hands. "Hold your breath for ten seconds."

She did as she was told as he scribbled down the word in the boxes. Mara watched him shyly and nearly sighed in relief when she'd stopped hiccupping. He tossed it onto the coffee table and looked at her, fingers threading into her black hair.

"You're adorable," he breathed, moving his face closer to hers.

Mara grinned when he answered her question from earlier and let him bring her back into him for another head-spinning kiss.

"Voice says, "Don't worry, I'm here, just whisper the word tomorrow in my ear". House on a quiet street, a home for the brave. A glorious kingdom with the sun on your face. Rising from a long night as dark as the grave. On a thin chain of next moments and something like faith. On a morning to order a breakfast to make bed draped in sunshine, a body that waits, for the touch of your fingers, the end of the day."
