I'll never forget the day I met skye. It was a bright sunny summer day in my anything but normal life as a teenager. I was walking home from vesta's far where I worked.
"Ciera, wait up!" Called a voice from behind me. I turned around and saw my boyfriend marlin.
"What's wrong honey?" I asked him.
"I wanna walk you home today." He said smiling.
"when did you become such a gentlemen?" I asked giggling. "Since we started going out." He said smiling.
"that was a year ago silly." I said and took his hand.
"Well I guess I'm starting to fall more in love with you then." He said and kissed me.
"I love you too marlin." I said smiling contently. He slid his arm around my waist and we walked back to the spring.
"so what was the real reason for bringing me home marlin?" I asked. I mean I knew marlin loved me with all his heart, but he was quite shy, not the gentleman type.
"There's a phantom thief on the loose I wanted to make sure you were safe from him." He said.
"Oh so now you feel the urge to protect me?" I said putting my arms around his neck.
"Well you are my girlfriend after all, so yeah." He said and hugged me.
"I love you marlin." I said quietly.
"I love you too ciera." He said and kissed me, then walked off.
"Thank goodness I work with my boyfriend." I thought to myself. "He just left and I already miss him, maybe we're moving too fast, or maybe I'm plain head over heals for him." I giggled softly thinking of what tomorrow would bring. Then the sun set overhead, I ran down to the bridge and saw marlin.
"Hey marlin, what're you doing here?" I asked.
"Just stopped to look at the sunset, come join me?" he asked. Outstretching his hand.
"Sure I'd love too." I said taking his hand as he led me toward him fondly.
"I've missed you Ciera." He said.
"I've missed you too marlin, even if it has only been five minutes." I said laughing softly. I leaned my head on his shoulder and watched the sun glow a fiery red. A tear escaped from my eye.
"I miss him marlin." I said sadly.
"You mean skye?" he asked.
"Yeah, every time I see the color red I can see his image, his long silver har and eyes, his snow leopard top his pants and shoes, even his, "I'm so cool and handsome" look on his face." I said, the tears started to stream.
"If I wasn't mistaken I'd say he had a huge crush on you, why else would he save you and not himself." Marlin said.
"Would you do that for me?" I asked.
"Yes Ciera, I would always think of you first." He said stroking my hair. I started to sob.
"Why, why did he have to die, he was the best friend I ever had, and I wanted to go out with him when we were older but he had to go off and die on me!" I said crying.
"Shh, people like him never really die, he'll always be in your heart, and you'll always remember him." He said comfortingly.
"I think I should go back for now." I said.
"Okay, but can I have one more kiss?" He asked.
"sure." I said laughing. I kissed him fondly.
"Goodnight Ciera." Marlin said.
"Goodnight marlin. I said and walked of towards romana's mansion to talk with lumina.
