I HEARD YOU CRY
Poem. Do Raph's escapist methods really work? He gives advice to Mike on dealing with life as a non-human. Rating for mild language.

I heard you cry

Tears.
I heard you.
And I know why.
I know why how it hurts.
To be what we are.
So isolated.
Alone.

Secluded.
I watch them
Just like you do.
I cling to what I get.
Digging deeper.
A goddamn
Grave.

Birth.
It creates.
Makes us up.
Determines our lives.
Don't be like me.
You're more
Than me.

Think.
You think
It gets all better
When I drown the pain.
But you're wrong.
It still hurts.
Badly.

The pain
Is still there.
And I'm desperate.
To find something more.
Something there
To take it all
Away.

Take
Your love
Your brothers
Take your your life,
Who you are,
Take that.
Live.

Death.
It's my life.
It's how I live.
It's all I have now.
No innocence.
No purity.
Nothing.

Hope.
For you
But not for me.
Don't lose that hope.
Don't close up
Like I did.
Forever.

I can't.
Can't change.
Can't ever go back.
Don't get there, Mikey.
Don't get caught,
Get hardened,
Cold.

Don't.
Don't drink.
Don't do drugs.
Don't sleep around.
Not that I do.
But I can.
I might.

I might.
Might leave.
Die all alone here
In this world I've made.
And when I do die,
Don't watch.
Don't cry.

My life.
My choices.
And my decisions.
This world I've made...
Don't lust after it.
It's not fun.
It hurts.

Just as much as your own world.
