Homecoming

What do you think of when you hear the word 'Homecoming? Joy, because you've finally returned? Or sadness, because it's the end of a journey?

-1Hello, It's me with a new poem. I hope you don't mind. I'll ramble later, so here you go.

Homecoming

Homecoming.

What does it mean?

I heard it once,

And it sounds sad.

After a long journey,

Your almost home.

It looks like you are home,

But it's all an illusion.

Before your eyes,

Your chance to go home,

Completely vanishes.

Then you find yourself,

On another journey.

And your home is out of reach.

Again.

Short, I know, but it was a test I had to do in 8th grade. The inspiration came from Kingdom Hearts I. If you play the first game, right after your first battle with Ansem at the End of the World and pause the game, up on the corner, where it usually says your location, it says Homecoming. That got me thinking. Why does it say Homecoming if the characters aren't going home? So this poem came to mind. I hope you liked it. I sure did.
