The wait
A/n: This is just something random that I wrote when I was really bored. I might possibly consider thinking about extending it. But I probably won't. Anyway, enjoy and review ^_^.
The silence echoed throughout the room. The fire, crackling away, was the only light source. It's warm glow lit the worn pages of a well read book. The scent of age hung faintly in the air as the pages were turned one by one. The words blended into the yellowed paper, fading over the years.
The nobody, his eyes never leaving the page, moved his slate grey hair from his face, only to have it fall back again. The poetic story telling of the author had him captivated, a picture being painted in his mind. The smoky wood log fire mixed in with the scents already in place. The nobody's nose began to tingle as the smell got stronger. Sighing, he closed the book and placed it on the floor beside the couch. He relaxed into the crimson cushions and closed his eyes. He enjoyed the peace, but couldn't help but feel that it was too hollow. He craved the one that broke the silence. Whether it was with his mindless babble, or with his tranquil melodies, he didn't care. The nobody stood, gazing around the room for something to distract him. He usually did not need any help entering the world of his own creation, but he welcomed it this time. He moved to the nearest bookshelf. One by one he read the titles. 'Moby Dick', 'Guide to sandcastles', 'How to care for your fish'. All reminded him of the one who could have captured his heart.
The nobody returned to the sofa, lying on his back and staring at the ceiling. The days when his love was gone always dragged out, seeming to last forever. He struggled to fill the hours by reading. Knowing the time wouldn't cease to drag on if he just lay there, he opted to close his eyes, hoping he would fall asleep.
An hour passed. The nobody was woken when he felt something soft on his lips. Opening his eyes slowly, he saw his love. Sitting up, he smiled.
"Miss me, Zex?" The blonde haired nobody asked.
"You have no idea, Dem." he replied.
The slate haired nobody wrapped his arms around Demyx, planting a soft kiss on his lips.
