Shadow

Prologue

Light blinded Shadow as soon as he became conscious. Sand drifted into his fur so he brushed it off steadily as he sat up. He noticed he was close to the ocean with him still very well damp. His black fur was all scraped up. Dirt, blood and salt stuck to him like glue. What had happened? He rubbed a bump on the side of his head. Who was he? Shadow felt dizzy as he stood up. Leaning against an only palm tree, he tried picking up his faint memories.

"Sonic?" a small voice questioned him. He turned slowly. Sonic.... he knew that name, if he could only remember.... A small boy about the age of four stood in front of him. The boy had brown hair with green eyes. "Sonic? Is that you?" he asked again.

"...No..." Shadow replied barely. He knew he wasn't this so called 'Sonic'. The boy nodded slowly.

"Who are you then?"

"I.. I don't know." Shadow said sitting down, with his back against the bare tree's trunk.

"You okay?" the boy said as the blackish, reddish hedgehog seemed to faint with exhaustion. When Shadow didn't answer the boy ran into his village screaming his parent's name. Heads turned and the boys father ran over to him.

"What is it , son?!" the man asked.

"A hedgehog is hurt! You have to come!" the boy said gripping his father's hand and taking him to the spot. As soon as the village men where there they all took no hesitation on helping Shadow.

Shadow awoke in a small bed with bandages on him. "I see your feeling better." a old man said as Shadow sat up slowly.

"Where am I?" Shadow asked shakily from his recovery.

"You are at the medical house in the Chao village." the elder replied softly. "You've been asleep for quite along time. Half a month."

Shadow didn't say anything except lay back down. He felt dizzy but not as bad as the last time. He still couldn't remember anything, even his name. "What... what is my name?" he asked the man.

"You mean you don't know your own name?!" the elder gasped.

Shadow nodded slowly.

"Well, let see.... how about Chaos?" the elder said.

Shadow nodded. "I am now Chaos"
