The little whimpers wake her up first. She's groggy but rolls over as the whimpers turn to small cries. The sounds come from the bassinet next to her bed where her daughter sleeps. The cries stop when the small chubby face recognizes hers and the tears turn to smiles.

"Hello there, my love," Annabeth smiles. Little Violet coos back. Annabeth lifts her from the bassinet and Violet curls up into her. It's been 3 month since Annabeth officially began this on her own. It didn't happen the way she thought it would. When she found out she was pregnant, she thought maybe that would be enough to fix everything with Luke. She could see it. Even now. The perfect little family. The family she always wanted and the family that Violet deserved. The problem was, Luke didn't it see that way. He never had. When Annabeth looked at Luke, she saw her future. But when Luke looked at her, he saw an opportunity.

And she fell for it hard.

I wish you'd answer my calls. It's important.

Annabeth looks at the stick with the two lines on it. Luke isn't answering. She broke up with him two weeks ago because she caught him cheating on her for the fourth time? Fifth? She'd lost count at this point.

What do you want

He's pissed. Only because he had made every effort to swindle her back into his lies and she had resisted.

I don't think you want to find out this way.

She doesn't know how he'll react. What he'll say. They had stopped using protection. They had been together since she was 14. She had a life planned with him. The idea of kids and marriage was something she craved. Despite everything, she loved him with all of her soul. She wanted to be done with him. But she saw the good where everyone else saw the bad.

I don't care

"Of course you don't," Annabeth rolls her eyes at his message. She takes a picture of the test and sends it to him. Her palms are sweaty and shaky.

Is it mine

Her blood boils. Luke was all she had. He was all she wanted. How dare he.

Fuck you

She slams her phone down.

I guess it is

She saw all the signs. She chose to ignore them.

Hello everyone! Thank you if you made it this far. This is not going to be a one shot. It will have multiple chapters. I have been having an extremely difficult time in life lately. Writing is therapeutic for me and helps me cope with all the thoughts in my head. This is basically my story. My life for the past year. Oh yeah, it's gonna get deep. It still hurts a lot, but I think getting it all out will help me to heal and also make me a better writer. Please let me know what you think and I'll get started on a new chapter ASAP! Thanks!
