Sorry guys about not coming out with anything update wise. I am, for the most part, still alive. I have just been focusing on college work for quite some time. This new story has been an idea of mine for a few months, well, since christmas 2017. I came up with this idea whilst on the checkouts at work funnily enough, and i wrote some of the idea on the receipt paper I had lying around… I started writing out some kind of plan for this in some of my spare time, but it has only been bits and pieces here and there.

I have decided to discontinue the other story of mine, as I have lost the thought process to actually do anything for it. I basically don't know how to make anything work for it as I started it almost three years ago and haven't updated it since the end of 2016. Even then, it is only 2 chapters with a couple of AN's.

So, I am started my story writing process again.

On a side note, I found 6 chapters of hand written work that I did for a fanfic about 5 or 6 years ago. It seems alright, so I might just type it up for the fun of it. Maybe for people to roast the hell out of it for fun. I don't know. Review and tell me if I should.

I plan for this story to be many chapters with a mildly low work count per chapter (compared to those that do 10-20k words per chapter), so about 3-8k words on average. It will also be done so that it is fairly detailed, as I want to do a chapter covering only 1 or 2 days worth of events. If you think that this works as I go along, give a positive review. If you have something to say about it not working, please don't be a dick, just give a few statements on how you think it doesn't and what you think would better it.

Finally, if you have something to say about me or my work that is negative and/ or derogatory, then you can go do one. I can't be bothered with the hate comments, I got enough of that from bullies in secondary.

Alright, enough of the waffling. On with the story!

Chapter 1

The hero gone.

Percy Jackson's point of view.

We won the war. We finally did. But not without cost. The god's were weakened, their domains unstable, their forms less grand. They looked almost human. Save for the weapons of power they held. It seemed like they were drawing upon the vast storage of energy they had in their weapons to fuel themselves.

It was the award ceremony and the meeting of the gods, and many were present. The seven, leo included, were gathered. The praetors, after they were re-elected during the time of war, the cabin councillors from camp half-blood. We all stood in front of the Olympians. There were both camps and the hunters watching from the sideline, here to witness.

Behind the gods stood a few others. I could tell that they were Titans from the raw aura of power they gave off, even if it was reeled in. whilst I couldn't tell who armoured one was, the silver one I knew. Bob, or Iapetus, was standing next to Hades. How he escaped from the pit and survived Tartarus himself, was beyond me. But I was glad nonetheless.

"Welcome heroes!" came the thundering voice of Zeus, his greyed hair sparking with electricity. "It is a monumental day, marking the end of the war!"

The demigods all cheered, the minor gods among them joining in with vigor. "It is also now time to reward those who played a huge part in the survival of our family," continued the Sky god. "And I see it fit to reward these heroes in a way befitting them"

At this, the council stood. They were joined by Hestia and Hades, the two Titans coming forward too. I now recognised the other, seeing him come forward. His flaming armour and blood red eyes reminding me of Ares. This was Pallas, the Titan of war.

Many others also muttered at the reveal of the titans, more so towards the long lost war Titan, who was presumed faded. Many knew his deeds as a good Titan, who aided in the war against the giants for the first gigantes war.

Poseidon spoke next, "Does anyone disagree that these heroes would be rewarded?"

This was followed up with a glare from Ares, directed at those assembled. "If anyone here has the guts to disagree, I'll remove them with a knife" No one had an issue.

"Proceeding on," started Athena, "We will start the rewarding. Reyna and Dakota, praetors of New Rome. Step forward."

They did, kneeling in front of the assembled immortals.

"We the gods have deemed you worthy of becoming the immortal praetors of Rome, to watch over the Roman demigods for generations to come and to guide the next praetors in their ruling. Do you accept this offer, or do you wish to pass it to another, to gain a lesser request instead?"

The two of them hid their shock at Juno's words. She had switched aspects for this as she spoke, changing to suite the demigods knelt before them.

Both of them looked at eachother, their eyes holding an unspoken conversation, before standing to address the gods as one. "We accept the offer, but we'd like to ask a favour.", They chorused.

"Fine, what is it you wish?" The king of the gods sighed, grumbling under his breath.

Reyna answered, Dakota stepping back slightly, "We ask that we be given a year to decide on who the next praetors will be. It will be a hard decision, so we'd like some time to mull things over."

"That is a reasonable request, I say we let them" Came the deep voice of the smith god.

Ares nodded too, a rare occurrence on him agreeing with his brother. He spoke, changing to Mars as he did, "I agree. The system is a bit slow on decisions. So give them time." He stayed in his Roman form.

"It is decided. We shall give Reyna and Dakota a year from now to choose their successors as they arise into immortality." Jupiter announced, the mentioned demigods glowing gold before the glow settled again.

The two gave their thanks before moving off to stand beside the end of the row of thrones. Dionysus stood next as the newly made immortals moved off. "Next are the councilors for the cabins of Camp Half-Blood. Step forth"

Surprised at the more kind words of the wine god, the councilors stepped forwards, but didn't kneel. This garnered a frown from a couple of the gods but nothing was said.

I knew most of them. Travis and Connor, Katie, Clarisse, Clovis, Will, Nico, Castor and Pollux, Malcolm, Drew and the rest were the councilors of the minor gods, them being the ones I didn't know.

"We deem you also worthy of this blessing, to aid in the training for years to come. I hope you all choose wisely, as it is not something to step down from." My father spoke this time, his voice more serious than usual.

Nico spoke up, "I think I can speak for all of us. We accept"

The demigods glowing gold before they returned to normal. They then joined the praetors, chatting among themselves lightly before quieting again.

The final lot of us were the seven. Or what was left at least, in the mental state. The things we all went through were tough. Annabeth suffered mentally, and it left us with no choice but to go our separate ways. She needed to be alone she had said, as it affected her too badly. I couldn't really do much about it.

It went back to Zeus now, "Demigods of the prophecy, we come to you now." We all took a step towards the gods. "Without you, we would have faded. There is no other way of putting this. So we wish to reward you for your service. To begin with, if you wish it so, we will never put you forward to go on another quest ever again. If this is what you want, you can go into the mortal realm or stay at the camps to help train your fellow demigods. However, I think you all deserve the same as the others we have rewarded. Immortality. But for you, we will make you gods and goddesses."

The others looked at each other for a second and there were a few nods and murmurs, before they looked to me too. I just shrugged and faced forwards again. I could see the baffled yet worried looks they gave each other, but ignored them. I knew what I wanted.

One after another, they knelt before the council, announcing their acceptance of immortality. When it was my turn, I stood still. My fellow demigods looked towards me curiously.

"Perseus?" Artemis sounded rather confused, "Do you not wish to join your friends?"

"Whilst I would love to be with my friends, I tire of this world. I just want to live my life now. To forget about the world of monsters and be a human." I gave a sigh and spoke again, "I'm leaving this world. Hopefully for a long time. If I ever come back, it will be because I want to." I finished, turning to leave, "Just, just try not to bother me."

With that, I pushed open the door to the throne room and slipped out.

No one's point of view, the throne room. After Percy leaves.

"Percy?" Came the saddened voice of his father. The usually carefree and happy god looked confused. Upset.

His brother, Hades, who was stood beside him, put his hand on the sea gods should in reassurance, "Don't worry too much Poseidon. He will return when ready. He isn't one to neglect family." He didn't feel as sure as he tried to sound.

Zeus looked a bit forlorn himself, but tried to hide it beneath a face of impassiveness. He cleared his throat for a second before speaking, "ih, I suppose we should, uhh, continue I guess?"

All eyes turned to the thunder god, no one quite sure on what to do or say.

"Let us begin then, and put everything behind us. It has been a long enough day as it is." Hera spoke out.

After a few words of ancient greek, and a dim glow of light from the now newly immortalised gods, the Olympians looked even more drained than before. After pushing forth a large amount of their now dwindling energy reserves, they were tired and all felt like they could sleep for a few decades.

"I give you, the gods of heroes. May they serve well. And may they help us prosper." Zeus spoke a few words at a time, his breath slightly ragged, and his face paled, "I think I can speak for everyone here and say that we should all get a lot of rest. This has drained us all mentally and physically."

With that said, they all teleported out of the throne rooms and off to their domains to heal. Not even Zeus had the energy to make his exit as dramatic as usual.

Once the throne room was empty, it was silent but for the low crackling of the hearth. The goddess of hope stirred the coals of the fire, orange flakes being thrown upwards, only to dissipate. The flames were low, even though the fuel was plenty. But the toll of the war had brought it down.

A frown crossed Hestia's face as she gazed upon the fire, an orange glow brightening her face. She could sense that a lot would change in the future, but how it would bring down the level of hope, only to take higher than ever, was a complete mystery. Even for the eldest child of Kronos.

The hearth goddess muttered something incoherent before leaving the throne room in a swirl of multi coloured flames.
