Mamoru looked up from his textbook, looking annoyed. 'Ignore her,' He told himself.
"giggle"
Or not.
"Odango, can you keep it down?"
Usagi smirked. "No way, jerk."
Mamoru tried his no-fail method.
"Fail any tests lately, Odango?"
"Nope." She said, grinning. Mamoru stared at her, openmouthed. "Do you have a fever or is that your brain finally melting?" He asked hoarsely. Usagi smiled carelessly at him over a triple fudge sundae. "It's true, Mamo-Baka, and there is absolutely no way you can bother me today because of it." Mamoru cocked one eyebrow . "Oh really? Show me." The small blonde rifled through her school bag and plunked it down on the counter, casually covering up the score with her hand. "So what's the score?" He asked slowly.
Usagi shifted her fingers slightly and a percent sign was exposed.
"That's nice, Odango, but most grades are generally given in percentages as a rule of thumb."
"Usagi inched her hand a little more to the left.
Zero.
"I thought you said you did well, Odango." Mamoru laughed. "How is failure good?"
Usagi gave him a look and moved her soft pale palm east.
One.
Mamoru's mouth quirked. "Is that all?" Usagi said nothing and looked away. A pang of guilt suddenly went through Mamoru's heart. "Look, that was uncalled for-."
"Yeah, it was." Usagi agreed, suddenly looking back up at him. Mamoru winced but his look of pain gave way to shock when she pulled her hand away completely and he saw the hidden number.
One.
One, one, zero.
One hundred and ten percent.
Mamoru's eyes rolled up in his head and he fell off his stool and onto rhe floor as darkness took him.
Motoki came up to the Place where Usagi was sitting, concerned by Mamoru's uncharacteristic fainting spell. "What happened?" He asked worriedly. Usagi smiled and took a sip of her shake. "The shock was a bit much for him," She said nonchalantly, passing her paper to the boy/ At the sight of her grade, Motoki felt the floor rush up to meet him.
Usagi looked at the two men in disgust. "Is my learning to study that big a deal?"
