"Hey babe." Dave said as Karkat got into the truck.

"What's up?" Strider replied to the silenced Karkat, "Karks? You feeling okay? Karkat say something."

"Not in the mood Strider. Just please get me far away from my house."

"Okay then." And then Dave drove away as he was asked too. After about half and hour of quiet driving Strider pulled over into the parking lot of an abandoned gas station. He then proceeded to get out. Karkat following him.

"Dude. Please. Tell me what's wrong. Maybe I can help." Dave said taking Karkats hands in his.

"Kankri said that. Well he said that he didn't want me living in his house anymore. He said since he paid the bills and since he went to work and since he did everything he had the power to do this. That's why I called you and asked you to come pick me up and stuff." By the end of his speel he was sobbing and his voice cracking.

"Hey hey. Its alright. How bout you come live with me?" Dave replied smiling, "I have my own place. A pretty awesome job. And I can pay for your college. Trust me. You can have everything. Someone to cuddle with every night. No more nightmares. A comfy bed to sleep in. Ill be there everyday with you. You'll never be alone."

He sniffed," I can?" He smiled and hugged him once Dave nodded. "I love you so much!"

"I know. I love you too." Strider replied running his fingers through the latters black fluffy hair.

"Dave?"

"Yeah what's up?"

"Thanks"

"'Course" He leaned down and kissed him softly.

Karkat stood there wide eyed not knowing what to do.

"What's wrong? Never been kissed?"

"N-no...is that bad?"

"No but uh. Oh nevermind lemmie do that again." He slipped his hands around his waist and pulled him close. "Is this okay?"

Karkat nodded and leaned up. Dave smiled and kissed him again marveling at how soft the others lips were. "You have no idea how long I waited to do that."

"Not really." He gave him one of the rare and true smiles he kept for only the other.
