The Beginning of the End
Authors Notes: Well here I am, publishing my first ever story. Exciting stuff! I found this story in an old writing book and decided I should publish it and finish it. Sorry if it isnt very good. It is my first story published remember! I will try and publish a new chapter every week or so but I have exams coming up so I might not have time to update for a few weeks. I hope you enjoy!
A dull light was shining through the grand window in the hall of the Malfoy Manor. Standing in the middle of the hall was the silhouette of a teenage boy, deep in thought.
"Lucius" an old and hassled lady called out. "Why do you have to leave? You are only sixteen!"
"Mother I am old enough to fend for myself and I have already told you. I wish to join Lord Voldemort. He has offered me a very temping job." The boy replied with an annoyed tone in his voice.
But I do not understand why you wish to leave the comforts of your own home, not to mention your education. All for some power-hungry wizard who, will no doubt, take advantage of your skills"
"This is my choice mother, and you cannot stop me!" He shouted back
"But Lucius – "
"Goodbye" he added angrily as he picked up his trunk and stormed out the door.

Thirty years later a young boy who greatly resembled Lucius Malfoy, sat in the very same room, accompanied by a pale woman with long, blonde hair. The woman looked down at her son. Her eyes were sunken and heavy as though she hadn't slept in weeks. She was carrying a very worried look on her face.
Then she spoke, in a deep husky voice.
"You know what will happen if you are not successful Draco. He will kill us both. You have to try."
Draco stared up at his mother and replied,
"But I can't do it. You know I can't. How does he expect me to do it if he has failed to do it himself? What chance do I have?"
"You can do it Draco, just try."
This was a lie. She knew he had no hope of destroying one of the greatest wizards of all time. This was payback for Lucius' blunder. He was taking it out on her son, her innocent only son, by giving him an impossible task. He was just a sixteen year old boy and Voldemort had made an excuse to kill him.
This was the reason she spent every night crying. First her husband was thrown into Azkaban, now her son was going to die. She had never hated anyone more than The Dark Lord now, although she did not dream of betraying him. She knew what horrible things he would do to her if she did.
It was back to the plan.
