Author's Note: I absolutely love DNAngel, and decided to rewrite the ending scene in Satoshi's POV. I really wanted Satoshi and Daisuke to get together but apparently, the writers disagree with me. So, I decided it could at least be one-sided.

Disclaimer: I really, really, really, wish I own it- but I don't. The scene is not even mine, and the dialogue was taken from the English version, with the honorifics added in cause it was too weird to write "Miss Riku" and "Hiwatari." If you'll notice, it's the exact same. All that I came up with is Satoshi's thoughts.

Warnings: Contains one-sided slash. Unrequited stuff.

Satoshi staggered out, his arm around Daisuke. He had never had this much contact with him before, and it was starting to make him nervous.

As if reading his thoughts, Daisuke asked, "Are you alright, Hiwatari-kun?"

Satoshi responded with a quiet 'yeah.' He looked up into the brilliant colored sky, noticing how beautiful it looked. Without thinking he said, "It's brilliant, isn't it?" Daisuke agreed.

"But it's a different kind of brilliant from before."

"What?"

'Wonderful Satoshi, he probably thinks you're crazy.' Not knowing why he had said that himself, he decided not to answer. They reached the edge of the cliff, and Daisuke released him. He stumbled, and Daisuke reached out to help him, but he held out his hand- straightening himself. 'Why the hell did I do that?' He mentally kicked himself for missing the opportunity.

"I'm alright."he said.

'No I'm not,' he contradicted in his head. Time to make up for his mistakes.

"Niwa, can I have this coat?" He waited expectantly for the answer.

"Huh? Yeah sure." Daisuke smiled, melting his heart.

'Keep it together Satoshi, you're acting like a school girl.' He searched in his mind for a new topic.

"I guess that I'll try to enjoy my life, since I have it."

'Oh yeah, that's right. Remind him that you're suicidal.' Another mental kick was in order. As they stood there, gazing at the romantic sky, Satoshi decided to take a chance. He began to recite the speech he had practiced so many times in his head.

"You're truly an amazing person." Daisuke smiled and he took that as his cue to go on. As he gathered his thoughts, his next line was interrupted by the voice he had grown to hate.

"Niwa-kun! Niwa-kun!"

Riku and Risa Harada ran towards them, waving. His chance was ruined. To make things even worse, Daisuke began to run towards the skinny tomboy.

"Riku-san!... Riku-san-"

She interrupted him.

"No, let me say it."

She paused, tears in her eyes. "I found you."

Satoshi rolled his eyes at the cheesy line, but Daisuke seemed to like it and reached out to hug her. Quickly turning away so he didn't have to bear the sight, he found the older Harada doing the same. There was silence for a while and Satoshi couldn't curb his curiosity any longer. He looked back, accidently locking eyes with Risa. To make things worse, she gave him 'the look.' He squinted, still trying to see behind him and realized with horror that it must look as if he were returning the look. Giving up, he turned back to face the sunset. More silence. He couldn't take it anymore. Fully turning around, he stared. Now not only had his Daisuke hugged her, they were now locked in a passionate kiss.

His heart shattered as he realized Daisuke was lost to him.

Ok, I realized how bad this was when I wrote it, but oh well. This is what I imagined Satoshi was thinking in the last scene of the anime.
