Rose and the Doctor were curled up on her bed, watching one of his favorite movies- a spoof on the classic tale of Robin Hood. "You'll love it," he'd said, "it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! And I've seen some funny movies in my-"
"900 years?" Rose had interrupted, earning herself one of this Doctor's eyebrow raised, what-the-hell looks. She'd shrugged it off and said to him, "Alright, if you think it's that great, we'll put it on."
"You're really going to like this, though, Rose… it was written by one of the greatest comic geniuses of your time! Mel Brooks!" he'd told her. Rose had just giggled at his enthusiasm and put on the movie.
When it got to the part where Robin was "singing" to Maid Marion, the Doctor turned to look at Rose, who in turn looked back at him. Rather than watching the screen for that part, Rose was watching the Doctor. Apparently, he knew all of the words to "the Night is Young and You're So Beautiful." He made exaggerated movements with his arms and his mouth was open far too wide for any natural sound, but that just made Rose giggle all the harder.
When the song was over, Rose clapped and joked, "I didn't know you could sing!"
The Doctor grinned and told her, "Only on special occasions."
"Oh? What's the occasion, then?" Rose asked, still smiling. Neither of them was paying much attention to the movie anymore, funny as it was.
"You being here with me is as special an occasion as any," the Doctor said to her, his face reflecting his honesty. Rose couldn't hold back her blush, giving a soft, nervous chuckle. The Doctor started leaning in, as if to kiss her, when they both heard, "Ach-too! (Or something along those lines) No ding-ding without the wedding ring!"
They both turned away from one another and looked at the screen, then burst out laughing. They watched the rest of the movie in silence… well… except for the occasional fits of laughter they went into… and when it was over, the Doctor left to tinker in the console room. Rose went back to the Select a Scene menu and watched the part with the song again, thinking about the Doctor and smiling.
End!
