Chapter One: I Will Have You Again

The beach was silent, except for a few frothy waves that crashed itself onto the sandy shore; a cool breeze permeating the air. She walked slowly towards the cool waters, a splash or two hitting against her bare legs. Goose flesh began to blossomed throughout, but she didn't pay no attention. It was simply not important.

Tendrils of her honey-blonde hair swayed behind her in a gentle rhythm. She hugged herself as she closed her eyes, memories of the past engulfing her mind, tugging emotionally at her heart. She felt the warm rays of the sun cascading down on her, warming her cooling bronze skin. For a moment, the sensation comforted her, but it didn't last.

A single tear began to form in the corner of her left eye, until it fell gracefully into a grain of wet sand. It sparkled under the sunlight, until it faded.

"I miss you," she whispered to nothing, the ache in her heart increasing until it pierced her chest. She hadn't had no need to speak his name. Longing, then guilt began to plague her. She didn't want to imagine what it was like for him to be suffering long, agonizing years spent in the Hell dimension, the very dimension where she had sent him in order to seal Acathla.

She cried softly, not aware that a swirl of sandy dust was forming from behind her. In it stood Angel, relief and happiness etching his handsome features. No matter what had happened, he couldn't have blamed her for what she had done. It was her sacred duty as the Slayer. He firmly understood that. He smiled to himself, then placed his hand on her shoulder.

She spun around, the familiar sensation forming in the pit of her stomach whenever she felt him near. "Angel!" She cried passionately, placing her slim arms around his bare waist. She dug her face onto his chest, the tears never stopping.

"Buffy," he whispered, placing his fingers under her chin, lifting it, as he pressed his warm lips onto hers in a passionate kiss.

Longing filled the kiss with each touch and hug that it accompanied with. The rays of the sun were beginning to set as both lovers, warriors in that case, were fading into specks of copper dust. They weren't afraid of their deaths. It was their time. They smiled, gently holding hands as they faded into the light, the dust remains laying on the moist sand until it disappeared into nothingness.

They were together. At last.

"People don't just wake up one day and stop loving each other.

Love is forever."
