"The Deal"
Kyoya's Confession!
Hikaru's POV:
I lay down on my bed, eyes closed, day dreaming when a gentle knocking awoke me. "Master Hikaru?"
One of my maids called through the door. "You have a guest. May he come in?" A guest?
"Let them in," I call.
My door creaks open, and I see Kyoya step in.
"Can I get you anything?" The maid asks.
"No," I reply.
"Hikaru, I'm sorry to barge in unannounced like this, but it's urgent. May I ask you something?" Kyoya asks, pushing his glasses further up his nose.
"What's up? Is everyone ok?" I ask worriedly. What's with Kyoya?
"Haruhi, Tamaki, Mori, and Honey all went to the zoo,"
"Yeah, so?"
"I understand Koaru has some business to take care of out of town. Why didn't you go with him, Hikaru?"
"I wasn't interested," I say.
Kyoya raises his eyebrows. "Really?"
I shrug. "OK, whatever. He told me to go to the zoo with everyone else. I didn't want to go. The zoo is lame,"
"Hikaru, stand up please," Kyoya tells me, shifting his feet.
I obey.
What's going on?
Kyoya's POV:
Hikaru stands, looking at me questioningly.
Keep calm, Kyoya. Don't lose your cool, you can NOT afford to lose control…"
"Hikaru, I need to tell you something. Now that I have earned my father's respect, I can loosen up a tad. I've never had the time to think about my feelings before, but now that I do, I can no longer deny that I have strong feelings for you. I have decided that going out on limb and being straight forward is the best tactic to see where I stand with you,"
Hikaru is silent. He looks at me in shock, still processing the news.
C'mon. Say SOMETHING, Hikaru! Please!
I feel a tear forming against my eyelid, when Hikaru steps forward, inches from my face. He gets on his toes, and steps so close, I can see the vague freckles lining his nose.
I feel my heart racing in my chest, and open my mouth to question his motive, when his lips collide with mine. I wrap my hands around his waist, and slide my tongue into his mouth.
He breaks away all too soon, and I'm out of breath, my heart still pounding.
"Kyoya, I like you. But there's a problem,"
"Koaru?" I say. I saw this coming.
He nods.
I rack my brain for a solution.
"How about we make a deal? You're good with those, Kyoya," he says with a smirk.
"Go on," I say, intrigued.
"Well, I need time to tell Koaru. But I want to continue seeing you, Kyoya. So, if we are to have a relationship, it must remain a secret, at least from Koaru, until he's ready,"
Hmm. Let's see. If I accept, Hikaru will be mine, but it will be a secret. But if I don't accept, I can't see him at all. What will happen if Koaru doesn't approve of the relationship? It's very unlikely Hikaru will choose me over his brother. But still, there's a fairly good chance Koaru will be happy for his brother, and we can continue to be together; like when Koaru set up the date between Hikaru and Haruhi. Hikaru doesn't know that was planned…
"Ok, Hikaru. I agree. Of course, we'll need to set a time frame, or the contract would have no base,"
"Two months should be enough," Hikaru says.
I nod. "Deal," I say, holding out my hand.
He smiles at me, and shakes it. "Deal."
