"Pleeeeeeeeeeese." chanted Eli and Kat over and over again. Rod pinched the bridge of his noes, sighing in exasperation.
"Fine, but only for a little while." said Rod in defeat. The two girls cheered, running around to get everything ready.

Nicky patted Rod on the shoulder reassuringly "Come on Rod, going to the carnival will be fun." assured Nicky. Rod smiled slightly at his kindness before frowning again.
"It's going to be dirty and loud with lots of people and ridiculous shows. That's not what I call fun." complained rod.

Nicky kissed him on the cheek lovingly.
"You'll have fun, I'll make it worth it." offered Nicky. Eli and Kat giggled at them, their affections were so sweet. Rod

blushed, glaring at Eli.
"If you're not in the car in thirty seconds, we're not going." threatened Rod. The girls raced off to the car while Nicky

laughed. He held hands with Rod and kissed him one more before they made their way to the car. The carnival was being held

at the fringes of the city. It was an old fashioned carnival with a big top tent, a Ferris wheel, and a freak show among

other things. Kat had never been to a carnival before so Eli was delighted to take her to the big top so they could watch

the show. Nicky stayed with Rod, holding his hand as they walked through the midway. Rod was shy and nervous, he kept

looking around to see if anyone was paying them any attention. Nicky insisted they buy a snow cone and share it. Rod

protested and blushed but in the end Nicky got his way. It was the best snow cone Rod ever had. Eli and Kat were busy

enjoying the clowns and acrobats preforming under the big top as classical carnival music blared from the speakers. "Rod do you want to check out the freak show?" asked Nicky hesitantly, he knew Rod didn't like them much. "Nicky! Why would you even want to see something like that? Those poor people are mistreated and humiliated." ranted Rod

angrily. Nicky shook his head.
"It's not like that now. Those people are paid to be in freak shows." explained Nicky. It was one of the few random

things he knew. "I don't want to see it." said Rod firmly "you can go by yourself though." Nicky pulled Rod towards the midway again "Never mind lets play some games instead." suggested Nicky. They played for a while before Eli and Kat joined them. Nicky

had great hand eye coordination, probably due to video games and managed to win Rod a stuffed animal at the ring toss. Rod

kissed him shyly as a thank you, much to the dismay of the man who was running the stand. "Get out of here you're scaring away my customers." grumbled the man crossly. Instead of protesting Nicky took Rod about a

foot away and kissed him passionately, making a show out of it. If straight people could do it, why couldn't he? Soon rod

deemed it time to go. "Before we go let's ride the Ferris wheel." suggested Nicky. Eli and Kat quickly agreed, hurrying off to the ride. Rod paid

for their tickets and took a seat with Nicky. When it started moving Eli yelped and clung onto Kat, now completely unsure

of the safety of the ride. Rod cuddled into Nicky, admiring the lights downtown against the near-night sky. Nicky traced

patterns over Rod's hand, smiling happily.
"I told you, you'd have fun." teased Nicky. Rod laughed, he really did have a good time.
"I love you Nicky." responded Rod, kissing him gently "I love you two." Nicky mumbled against Rod's lips. The Ferris wheel continued to turn, it really had been a wonderful

night.
