Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who or any of it's characters – obviously!! :D

A/N: I was inspired to write this story whilst listening to a song called River Flows In You by Yiruma, you should listen to it whilst reading this as it is what she's playing :D

The Doctor was wandering about in the TARDIS, just tinkering with bits and bobs here and there wondering suddenly where Rose had gotten to.

He remembered she was in here just a minute ago, or was it a long time ago? He couldn't really remember, which annoyed him – well he was the Lord of Time he should know, but when it came to Rose all rules seemed to go out the window.

He was always losing track of time nowadays, ever since he got Rose back from the Alternate Earth, she was always on his mind whatever he was doing, whether it was fixing the TARDIS or reading a book, she was always there in his head, her face, her eyes, her hair every detail and whatever he was doing never really got done.

He was just thinking about her when he had, had enough of imagining her in his head – he had her back now so he knew he could see her whenever he wanted. As he wandered through the TARDIS trying to find her, he started thinking about their relationship. After he got her back they never really talked properly about what happened before and after, he had never asked her what she did when she was on the other Earth, and she never asked him either. What he regretted most though was that he hadn't actually told her what he was going to say when they were on the beach. He wanted to SO much but couldn't bring himself to actually do it.

As he was pondering this, he heard something in the deep bowels of his ship, as he got closer he realised that it was actually music, piano music to be precise. A wonderful composition, obviously by a very talented pianist. He realised Rose must be listening to a CD, to relax he supposed, but as he stopped outside her room – his brow furrowed - no music was coming from there so came to the conclusion that she was not in there listening to music. He was rather confused at this because he couldn't think where else on the ship he had a CD player.

He knew that he was near wherever the music was coming from so he followed the noise, he listened to the beautiful melody smiling as it reminded him of something he had heard before. Suddenly he stopped outside the room – and he realised that this was the piano room. This confused him very much as he knew this was no CD but if that was the case then it must be... no it can't be he had never heard her play EVER. But he opened the door, peered round and sure enough it was Rose, her beautiful golden hair sitting on her shoulders, framing her face, with a complete look of concentration on her face as her hands moved across the piano keys like she was caressing them.

He stood at the door, mesmerized by the beautiful sound looking at her fast moving hands and watched as the music slowed into a sweet tune. He suddenly realised where he had heard it before, she was always humming subconsciously. He looked up at her angelic face and was concerned and confused at the tears he saw streaming down her face as she played. He move so the he was near her – she still didn't know he was there as she was concentrating so hard on her playing.

That is until she spoke, ''I wrote this when I lived on the parallel Earth.'' She paused and added, ''For you''. And she looked up, still playing, into his eyes, as he realised that it didn't matter that he had never said ''I love you'', because they both knew it. He sat next to her on the bench and whispered ''Never leave me''. The tune slowed to a complete end and she turned around and kissed him on the lips. That was a good enough answer for him as he smiled into her kiss.
