I heard him say something that I didn't quite hear. I removed my binoculars from my eyes and turn to look at him.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing.." He said, but I could see the disappointment in his eyes.

"No, Deeks, it's something." I urged. "Please tell me."

"Nothing, tensions are running high, I'll just tell you when we're not so on edge." He mumbled.

I wasn't going to let it go that easily. "Deeks," I said. I could hear the sadness in my own voice. I knew he could hear it too.

"It's nothing." He replied, way too quickly.

"Tell me. I know how these things play out... We may not get another chance." I urged.

"It's about sunshine..." He paused. I knew he could see the confused look on my face before he continued. "And gunpowder."

"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked, even more confused.

"It has everything to do with it..." Deeks answered, turning back to the stakeout.

"Everything to do with what?" I asked.

He turned to look at me again. I could see something in his eyes. Desperation... I thought.

"This... Us... Kensi, we have been dancing around our 'thing' for so long that we don't even know we're doing it.." I gasped slightly. He moved from his crouching position to kneel on his knees. His hand came up and cupped my cheek. His other hand slowly found its way to my other cheek. I knew what was coming... And I didn't stop it.. I didn't want to...

His lips found mine and I closed my eyes. My arms somehow became useless, to push him away, or to pull him closer. So I just sat there... Kissing him...

He moved his lips against mine so sweetly that I was mesmerized. I couldn't feel my toes. He slowly pulled back and I opened my eyes to look into his. He was looking at me with that worried expression on his face.

I couldn't stand to look at him for one more second, not with that look on his face. But I knew that if I shut him out, our partnership would take several steps back, so I decided to take a giant leap forward. I freed my arms from their limp state and used them to pull him back in for another kiss.

This one wasn't so gentle, so nervous. It was more revealing on my side than it was on his this time. It scared me, but in a good way. It seemed to last forever. His lips ever-so-gently parting mine to gain better access to my mouth. My heart pounding as my fingers became wound in my hair... My tongue stroking out on his lower lip to seize control of the kiss again. But he wouldn't let that happen... Now that he had me, he wasn't letting me go. And I wasn't letting him.

So we sat there, battling for dominance. For what felt like hours, until I heard the sound of twigs breaking behind us. I suddenly spun around to see Callen and Sam smirking at us before they proceeded to get back in the car and pull out, leaving me alone with Deeks- Who just smiled and kissed me again.
