When I woke up at exactly six a.m in the morning, the day was still dark. The morning was quiet as the world hasn't begun stirring. I'd like to have a cup of hot coffee on an early morning. My mind was refreshed when the caffeine was totally absorbed by my body. I also drink a lot of coffee at work. As a police officer for over thirteen years, coffee becomes an essential part of my life. I started my day as every Monday morning. After enjoying my morning coffee, I drove to work.

The police station is at the corner of Grison road and there are several police cars parking in front of the door. I parked my car in the back yard and entered the police station from the back door. The station was a completely different word from outside, which was like a rolling boil of noise. Phones were ringing and my colleagues were yelling across the room. Everyone was busy answering calls and recording information about "Missing Amy".

"Good day! Officer Velasquez, it is a busy morning. How are you doing?" Jan was standing at corner with his arms around each other and said to me.

"Great! Perfect morning. How are you?" I replied.

"I am good, I just need more sleep. Nick is waiting for you." The 'big news' in our little town makes everyone exhausted.

"Ok. I am going to have a cup of coffee first."

As I walked into the room, Nick was sitting in front of a table looking at the information that my colleague had provided for him. He looked paler than yesterday, cheeks hollow, eyes sunk in the orbits.

"How are you holding up?" I asked.

" I am fine."

"You look like you feel awful. We are going to find Amy, Nick, It can't go any other way. Believe that, okay? We are trying to track Amy's phone, her credit cards. We are organizing searches and we will hold press conference tomorrow." I tried to convince him something that I was not so sure and it apparently did not work.

After five years marriage, Nick's wife Amy just disappeared in the morning of the day of their fifth wedding anniversary. Her disappearance receives heavy press coverage, as Amy was the inspiration for her parents' popular Amazing Amy children's books. Since yesterday, the police station had been received a huge stress from the public as well. A numerous anonymous calls came trying to offer more information and help.

"If you could provide more information about your wife, that will be very helpful."

"Absolutely yes, just want help." Nick replied without hesitation.

"So what does exactly Amy do these days? One woman with all these degrees, what does she do? " I asked

"You know, just keeps busy…" he said.

"Doing what?"

"I mean… she is a crazy reader. She always got a book in her hand. "

"Is Amy got friends we can talk to?"

"Hmmm…no, not really."

"No friends in this whole town?" I was surprised by Nick's answer.

"She was very close to my Mom before she passed away. "

"So your wife has no friends here. Is she a kid of standout selfish?" I added.

"She is just from New York. She is complicated and she has very high standards. "

"Type A. Well, that can make you very crazy if you do not like that. You seem pretty laid-back. Type B… Speaking of which… do you know Amy's blood type? "

" I…I don't know…I have to look up it at home. " he said.

"Okay. You don't know she has friends. You don't know what she does all day. You don't know your wife's blood type. Well… you seem pretty tired. Maybe I should schedule another appointment tomorrow, all right? Thank you for the information." I said.

As Nick walked away, I rethought our conversation over and over again and I still think there was something wrong with this marriage.
