Um… Please, don't kill me. Yes, I am writing another story. No, I have not updated all of my other ones, but can you blame me? I just keep getting sucked into all of these fandoms, and a few of them make me wonder about if I was in that universe, and now I have to do things like this because that's what fanfiction is for!
So yeah! Rant over.
Disclaimer: The only character I own is me, and well, I guess I don't even really own myself, huh?

Prologue
Every story seems to begin the same way, doesn't it? There's always those same four words to let you know that the journey is beginning. However, it seems to me that most people don't really ever think about what the phrase itself means. Ask any child and they'll tell you that it's how you begin a story, and I'm sure most adults would say the same. In truth, it is another (more fancy and old-fashioned) way of saying that this event happened a long time ago, or happened at some time. Isn't it fascinating that we should start all of our fairy tales this way, then? These stories captivate our imaginations as children, but then we grow up and realize that this is not really how the world works.
But we never stop hoping, do we?
We all hope that maybe, some miracle will occur and we can once again believe in magic, true love, the power of good triumphing over evil, and all of the other classic themes we can't help but be taken in by.
What if, as these stories are written, those classic words are used so as to remind us that they are true? That they did, in fact, occur at some point in our history, and this is our only written recording of what took place? That would, of course, pose the question that every curious mind would logically ask…
Why do we believe them to be fake now?
What made us change and start calling these events "stories"?
What caused such a common disbelief in magic, and such a curse upon wonder?
Personally, I believe the stories are real, but dressed up over time to become more appealing. This story is one that tells us the truth, none of the dressing needed, but just as much light and magic and darkness to be categorized with the rest. And, as all good stories do, it begins with those fateful words…
Once upon a time…
