Disclaimer: I do not own anything from this fic. :c But I'd give my life if I could. :D
She was beautiful. Sleek and shiny, white and round... clean. Cleaner than anything he had ever seen before. Her eyes glowed bright cyan as she came to life, her limbs disconnecting. Wall-E emitted a wondering sound, following her carefully.
After ages of wandering around after the strange robot, watching her scan things here and there, Wall-E hid behind a tire. His desire to follow her increased with every scan, and a strange new feeling was churning inside him, passionately washing away the loneliness he felt while watching Hello, Dolly.
Then he saw his pet roach perched on the tire next to him. The tiny insect flicked it's wings, offering Wall-E to go up to her. He shook his head vigorously. They must not be seen! He could only remember the remains of the flaming rock she had shot, and how close he came to losing his life. The insect ignored him, and skittered down to meet the white robot. Wall-E sank deeper behind the tire.
EVE was scanning a pile of Earth garbage when she heared a skittering noise. Turning around, she saw the thing - it was moving, alive. She shot it instinctively, no feelings of regret noticeable. Wall-E's shriek was drowned out by the explosion as he watched, helpless from where he sat.
All was silent. And then the roach sprang up again.
EVE turned her gun off, and the end of her wing-like hand turned into fingers. Driven by curiosity now, she held it up to the insect. It crawled up her arm, and she watched in fascination as it scrambled around her slippery surface. It slid into the empty space between her head and body, making her giggle.
It was that giggle that won Wall-E's heart.
It was high and mechanical, and yet girly and cute, and he could not resist joining in. Except, he got shot. It scared him how fast her insticts were.
He fled from pile to pile, fear building up inside him as they evaporated dangerously close. He closed himself in his box form, shivering. EVE held the gun up to him, floating over suspiciously. "Who are you?" She asked, in a low robotic voice so unlike her laugh in many ways. "Who are you?" She repeated.
The rusty robot lifted his eyes from inside his body warily, and held out a hand as the roach scrambled down toward him. He hesitated.
"Wa... WALL-E." He answered, his voice creaking. EVE ran a scan on him, finding him as no threat, and floated away. Wall-E's arms drooped. Was that it? He had never cared about being unimportant to anyone before - there was no one here. Yet this ignorance struck him harder than any laser.
Her giggle echoed through his mechanical body. He had just wished he had recorded it.
Okay, this sucks. But this is my first WALL-E fanfic, and my second fanfic posted up here. Read and Reply, and please tell me how I can improve.
