"Hey Dez, hand me that book right there" Trish ordered, pointing to a greyish-blue book that sat atop the table next to the piano. Dez, who sat next to her on the piano bench, furrowed his eyebrows.
"I think this is the first time I've ever seen you read a book" He commented with slight surprise. Trish rolled her eyes at him crossly.
"I read books" She protested, "besides, I just need it to kill this freakishly huge spider"
He shook his head. "I'm disappointed in you, Trish. Killing an innocent thing when it's done nothing to you" He said, disapprovingly. She looked at him as if he grew two heads.
"You kill spiders all the time!" She exclaimed, peeved. He froze for a second, but quickly retorted back.
"I don't know what your talking about"
"You know what? I'll just get the dumb book myself!" She got up and walked over to the side table where she went to grab the book in question when it was suddenly swiped from under her hands by none other than: "Dez!"
"I refuse to let you kill Roger!" He responded, holding the book to his chest so she couldn't get it. But that didn't stop her from trying.
"Roger? You named it?!"
"Of course I did, he's my little friend"
"You can't be friends with a spider!"
"You can't be friends with a turtle!"
"You don't even know what your saying anymore"
"Nuh-uh!" She stopped, took a deep breath, and walked to the door.
"I'm just going to get another book, but when I come back up," She looked back at him with narrowed eyes. "that spiders not the only thing that's going to die"
With that, she stormed out of the practice room, and past Austin who watched her go by in confusion. He shrugged it off and continued on to the practice room.
"Hey Dez, where's that book I asked you to keep safe?" He asked when he reached the door and saw his best friend sitting on the piano bench, staring intently at something on top of the piano. Dez looked back with a startle, the sudden voice making him think Trish had come back. He inwardly sighed in relief when he saw it was Austin and quickly walked over to him, outstretching his hand with the book in it.
"Here you go, safe and sound" He said as Austin took it. The blonde grinned at him.
"Aw, thanks! Was it hard?" He asked curiously. Dez thought for a moment before shaking his head with a smirk.
"Not at all"
