My Light, My Hope
Summary: He ran away. Wanting to escape the darkness. With darkness all around, will there be hope? Hope for him? His light?

I kept running… running… running… running until my legs give away.
Darkness…
It's all too consuming… everywhere I ran, darkness consumes it.
Everyday…
Everytime…
"Why won't it leave me alone…! Why?!" I continued to run.
"Leave me alone!" but the darkness continued to follow me.
"Why can't it leave me alone!" I stumbled down and as I started to get up, the darkness started to consume me.
'Somebody… Help…' I said as it continued to consume me.
But, nothing came…
'I guess… this is my end…' I slowly closed my eyes, letting this so called darkness consume me.
Consuming…
Consuming…
Suddenly, I opened my eyes, squinting.
'Is that… it?' not to far away from me stood hope… light… very bright…
I then tried to reach it…and with all my might, I reached out. I reached out, thinking there was no way I could reach it, but then, a hand reached out, from the bright light, the only light visible… reaching out… in order to save me…
I never knew…
And before I knew it, the light had already consumed me.
I woke up startled. Cold sweat dripping. What was that light? I looked at my side and there, I saw someone holding my hand. I smiled. I then layed down, looking at her.
Her face, her hair, everything about her. She looked too beautiful to me.
The one I would and will share my life to.
My wife.
I slowly caressed her face, smiling. I saw her smile and moved in more form my touch. I couldn't help but smile. I looked down at our entwined hands.
And there, I saw our ring. The one we had vowed with a year ago. I tightened my hold on her.
I could never think of anything else but to be by her side always. I hold on tight as if it were my life line. Heck, I don't even know what I'll do without her.
It seems I woke her up, she looked at me and smiled.
"Cannot sleep?" she asked. I merely nodded.
She sat up and tapped her lap. I knew then that she as asking me to lay there. I complied. I slowly closed my eyes as one of her hands played on my hair and one which I held tight.
"Now sleep…" I heard her say." I'll always be here, I promise." With those words, I tried sleeping. I felt her kiss me forehead and I smiled. I knew then that even in the darkness there was light, hope.
Who knew… after all this time… she was the one…
The one… whom I would love…
… whom I never would love me and cherish me…
… whom I knew would save me…
Save me… from my darkness… from everything…
She was and is my light, my hope,
My one and only love, my wife, my one and only Lucy Heartfilia.
