Today was the day that everyone was talking about for months. Everywhere you go there are posters fliers everything to announce the big event. Everyone seemed excited but one. Regina wasn't so thrilled about the event, why did she need to go if she has been to so many in the past.

Regina was practically forced to go Henry had begged her and how can she say no to her little prince. She was good at hiding her emotions because no one knew that she was miserable of going. Regina had noting to wear yet.

Regina! Aren't you excited for the ball tonight. Snow yelled from her phone.

Regina had to pull the phone away from her ear of how loud Snow was.

"Yes, Snow I'm so excited I haven't been to one of these in a long time." She said trying not to make it obvious that she truly didn't want to go.

"I will leave you so you can get ready. I'll see you in a few hours, oh remember your mask! Snow said as the call went dead.

Regina started to use magic to see which dress would be perfect for her. Even tho she didn't want to go she still had to look the part. She finally came to a halt when a red puffed up dress appeared.

"This is it, it's perfect." She said as she grabbed the dress that was floating in the air.

After a hours of Regina getting ready it was time.

As she stepped down from the steps every stared at her. She couldn't tell who they were since it was a mascarade ball. Regina's mask was black as night with with diamonds on the edges with her lips red as blood.

As she stepped down she went straight to the punch section.

Regina felt awkward she knew people despised her. She could hear the whispers of people talking smack about her. She decided she needed fresh air so she stepped out into the balcony. Regina took a deep breath and as she exhaled tears started to escape her eyes. She couldn't keep them in anymore. She started crying uncontrollably now it was like the tears she has been keeping in for all these years.

"Excuse me M'lady are you ok?" A man asked from behind her.

Regina gasped as she wiped away the tears.

"Y-yes I'm fine." She replied trying to hold back the tears.

She could hear the mans footsteps come closers stopping as she could feel his presence right besides her.

"It doesn't seem like it. Do you want to talk about it?" He asked touching her lightly on her arm.

Regina wanted to talk about it she wanted to let go of everything that was building up inside her for years all of these emotions it needed to stop.

"Everyone hates me! I don't belong here! I might as well be dead! She blurted out followed by tears.

*The man walked in front of her*

"Shh.. Everything okay, don't say that. I'm sure everyone adores you."

He said hugging Regina lightly.

Regina poured her whole soul out crying on his shoulder. Once she calmed down he looked into her eyes as they sparkled through the mask.

"Would you like to dance?" He asked with a slight smile.

Regina was grateful for what he did he offered a shoulder to cry on when she was broken. So she didn't mind having a dance with him.

"Id like that." She responded as he lifted his arm as she grabbed ahold of it. They stepped out of the balcony and into the ball. Everyone stared at them as they made their way to the center of the dance floor.

None of them cared they just held each other and started to waltz.

They danced for what felt like hours.

"I have to get going." Regina stated as she started to release his grasp and began to walk away.

"Wait what's your name?" The man asked not wanting her to leave.

Regina just looked back and gave him a smile as she started walking once again.

"I'm Robin." He whispered as she was no longer in his sight.
