Chapter 5

I sat with my arm draped casually around Jessica's shoulders, not believing my luck. I didn't even think about what I was supposed to be doing. Something in the movie suddenly reminded me, and I turned slightly to look at Jessica. If she were a controller, she would have known which dressing room had the mirror entrance, and that anyone on the other side could see her. I waited until the movie was over, and we left, when there was no one else around, I asked her, "what comes to mind when I say 'yeerk'?"

"Well," she said, with a puzzled expression, "the first thing that comes to mind is to wonder what that means." I nodded.

"Do you believe in aliens?" I asked.

"You mean like, little green men from Mars?"

"Not exactly, but along those lines."

"I suppose so, I mean the universe is too huge for no one else to be out there, right? Why?"

"What if I told you that there are aliens on Earth now?"

"Where?" She laughed, "I don't see any."

"I mean, like parasitic slugs that enter our brains and control our bodies."

"Ohh, more like Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

"Uh...sure, something like that."

"Well, that's pretty...out there...why did you bring this up?" This wasn't getting me anywhere. I had to show her.

"I need to show you something," I said, I led her back into The Gap and back to the dressing rooms.

"You don't want me to model something for you, do you?" She laughed. I laughed in response, a little nervously. I opened the dressing room door, "I know this is a little weird," I said, "but go in there," she did, a little cautious, I went in after her and pressed the release and the mirror swung open, to Jessica's obvious shock. She looked at the back of the mirror and saw that the back was transparent, "I changed in here!!!" She said.

"I kn...never thought of that, oh my gosh, someone could just look right through and see someone dressing!! Anyway, come with me," I led her down the stairs, and we finally came to the bottom and she saw everything.
