"No, there has to be a mistake. Look again." Kate had a desperate tone in her words; Toby could see tears gathering at the corner of her eyes. The nurse looks at her and than him in confusion.

"Kate honey what's wrong?" He attempted to reach out and take a hold of her hand but she jerked it away refusing to turn and acknowledge him.

"I can't."

"You can't what?"

"A girl. I can't have a girl." Toby belted out a laugh. With that Kate jerked her head towards him, glaring.

"I don't see what's so funny!"

"You're being ridiculous. You know that right? It's a girl. Our daughter. Not some horrible modern day tragedy."

"Am I being ridiculous?! I had almost no relationship with my mom growing up. I don't know how to do that cutesy tea parties and dressing dolls. I was more of a daddy's girl." Toby sighed.

"She can still be a daddy's girl. Look Kate you are not you're mother. You will not treat our little girl like your mother treated you. She will grow up every moment knowing she is perfect."

"I was such a tomboy. You know with my brothers."

"I know. And she can be too. Or a girliest little girl painted in pink. It'll be up to her."

"A girl. We're having a girl?" Kate turned to the nurse who remained silent at the other side of the bed during their moment in her career it was second nature.

"Yes you are. Congratulations. Don't worry you guys will be amazing parents."

"And our daughter will be amazing Kate."

"I hope I can be good enough for her.

"You will be. I promise."
