Death Note: The Way It Really Ended
Light Yagami woke up dazed. He was surrounded by rocks, dripping water and red-eyed rats. He was sore and his vision was blurred.
"Good evening, Light," a scratchy voice said.
Light could just barely make out Ryuk, a tall shinigami, just as frightening as ever leaning against a wall on the opposite side of whatever room he was in.
"I'm alive?" Light asked, confused.
Ryuk laughed a dark and sinister laugh. "I told you that you'd never go to heaven or hell if you used the death note. Now you're somewhere in between."
"But you said I'd go 'no where.'"
"Perhaps, but I also refer to this place we're in now as 'no where'. Only a smart person would've noticed that. L did."
"Where are we though? Why don't you just tell me?" he demanded.
"I have no obligation to explain the rules of the death note. It was written clearly in the rules. I'm surprised you haven't realized where we are though. Don't you feel the wings in your back?" Ryuk chuckled.
Light looked over his shoulder curiously and saw raven black wings coming out of his shoulder blades. "Wha―"
"You're in the Shinigami Realm, Light. Because of your great use of the death note you landed yourself here. And because you're the first human to use it quite to that extent, everyone who played a part, or at least a major role, in your life since you touched the death note, wound up here at the time of your death whether they were dead or not at the time." At this time Ryuk began to push him down a long grimy chamber as he continued his explanation. "In other words, people just dropped dead because you died. If they had just minded their business, they would've lived much longer."
The two arrived at a new room with a group of people in it. Matt, Misa, Mello, Near, etc.
But one person stood out. L.
I suppose we'll be enemies forever, Light thought.
L grinned, "Hello, Kira."
