"Are you seriously pressing my suits, Pepper?"
All the pressure of being the Iron Man, which he did with that famous smile of his never faltering, and Tony Stark at the same time it seemed wasn't getting to him at all but that doesn't mean he doesn't need me to do everything else.
"I'm still your assistant, Tony (the days of Mr. Stark passed in red and gold), I'm just doing my job."
Before I could protest he slipped the iron out of my hands, a tiny shutter passing over me as his fingers brushed mine (reminding me how they had saved me time and time again), dropping it still steaming hot into the trash can.
"You can run my life, hell you have for years now, but that doesn't make you the 'help'. So, baby, don't act like it."
That smile of his, that he used to charm women out of their skirts for years now (only recently stopping the act), made everything else melt away just like it has for god knows how many years.
But I wasn't a total goner, if those grinning if lips of his found mine I wouldn't be back to earth for days, because I already had the iron in my hands again making sure that my employer didn't burn down his house, again.
(trust me he could do it with his eyes closed and say 'oops' after it was just ash)
"What ever you want, Tony, but please don't set any fires on my behalf."
I knew that much wanted kiss, one that would go down in history the moment it finally happened, would have to wait until later the moment he laid his eyes on that suit, starting a new kind of fire in him.
(that same fire I sometimes saw in him when he was around me)
"Trust me if I wanted to set a fire for you, Pepper, it would be a whole lot bigger then this. It would be spectacular, your name in smoke and ash, the whole shebang."
I know him better then anyone, years of service to such a man will do that (I am after all his everything), that he wouldn't think twice about setting the whole world on fire for me and doing so with a smile.
"How romantic, have fun boss, just don't have too much fun."
In a few seconds he was a whole new person, no Tony Stark just Iron Man an icon in the making, all dressed in the now fashionably red and gold, leaving me with that grin, red cheeks, and hope for what's to come.
(which I hope involves lips, lots of them)
"You complete me."
