Wow, this is my first RENT fan fiction!
Actually I wrote this back in July when I was super obsessed with RENT. I found it today & figured, hey why not?
Enjoy :)
April Ericsson was by no means normal. No matter where she went, no matter when, those surrounding her found her weird, and odd, and strange, because she was simply different. But April didn't call herself weird or odd or strange; she had too much self worth for that. She preferred to call herself unique.
April strode down the busy New York City street in her nearly 3 inch high heels. It wasn't like she needed the extra height, being 5 foot 8, but heels were like a confidence booster, they made her feel more powerful. And she felt like the heels were perfect symbolism for how she thought of herself; above all the rest.
The midnight moon shown down on April as she continued down the sidewalks, looking desperately for somewhere to enjoy herself. That was when the bright neon sign seemed to leap out at her, like it was calling her to enter like a Siren's song. Without even thinking about it April walked into the club and was instantly greeted with the loud sounds of a band playing, drunks ordering their drinks, and their designated drivers angrily arguing over whether or not their pool move was a foul.
April couldn't help but roll her eyes at the scene before her. Normally, she would just walk straight out the doors and find an event that wasn't so painful to the senses, but something inside her wouldn't allow her to leave. She sat down on the only empty bar stool and ordered an alcoholic-free Shirley Temple. Her "friends" constantly made fun of her for barely ever drinking alcohol but April didn't care, no one's opinion was going to change her mind about things.
She sipped her drink and suddenly the distinct voice of the singer's voice rang in her ears. Uncontrollably she smiled, and immediately turned to face the band. When she saw the singer her smile only grew. His voice was so deep, powerful, and perfect. His looks matched. He had short blonde hair and was wearing a black leather jacket and dark jeans. The singer turned and was looking in her direction when his icy blue eyes met her green blue ones. April didn't normally go for blondes, but she figured for him she would make an exception.
So I hope you liked it!
Originally I had it that April's reaction to meeting him would be in this chapter, but I decided I liked the idea of seeing April & Roger's view on it in the same chap.
So even though this seems short, I'm putting up their views right after this. So it'd be like they were in the same chapter except they're not :)
Reviews are amazing!!
