"Oh, why should the spirit of mortal be proud?
Like a fast-flittering meteor, a fast-flying cloud,
a flash of the lightning, a break of the wave,
he passes from life to rest in the grave."
—William Knox (1824)
(quoted in Crisis on Infinite Earths, 1985)
On April 25th, 2024, almost ten years after the Flash brought hope and wonder into the world, the beloved hero engaged in an epic battle with his oldest enemy: the Reverse-Flash, defeating him before disappearing in a flash of light.
That was the second time.
This is the story of how that day ended twice, and how, in the world's darkest hours and in the midst of its first true crisis, Barry Allen saved the multiverse.
Welcome, once again, to Crisis on Infinite Earths.
