Author's Note: My first fanfiction! Despite my many issues with Smallville, I liked the series a lot. My favorite pairing was and still is ClarkXKyla (or Clyla) despite it only existing for one episode, which led me to write this and plan for more.
First True Love
15-year-old Clark Kent is having a picnic with his lovely girlfriend Kyla Willowbrook in Miller's Field. He inserts a piece of chocolate cake in her mouth as he looks into her beautiful brown eyes with great affection. She in turn uses a napkin to wipe off the chocolate frosting on the side of his lip as she returns his look by gazing into his blue eyes with such loving warmth.
It is odd really. Not even an entire week ago, they had only met due to Clark's buddy time with Pete ending in his falling through the ground and indirectly discovering the Kawatche caves. The caves of Kyla's ancestors. Now, they hold hands and look to each other with tender smiles and intense emotion that indicate that they cannot live without each other. It seems so perfect. Clark has found someone he could share both his secret and heart with and Kyla has sated her own need to share her secret and passionate feelings.
Every moment of their day is spent in absolute joy of being together. They climb the rocky walls of the Kawatche cave as they gather information and hold hands. Once they step down, they share a deep embrace and passionate kiss.
Clark acquires not only movie tickets from best friend Lex Luthor, but also, the entirety of the theater is rented out just for the former and Kyla. They are watching a horror film and Kyla is clearly frightened by the suspense of it, but Clark holds her close to quell her fear; she is now at ease and kisses him on the cheek.
That night, they are cuddling up on Clark's couch in the barn as they look up at the full moon. They take some time to look back and forth at each other, almost as if they are anticipating something. Suddenly, Kyla nods at Clark just as her human eyes shift into that of her wolf's form. Clark holds her in his arms with just enough tightness to comfort her as he kisses her on the forehead. As she becomes more and more wolf-like, Kyla begins to lose herself. However, Clark's repeated words of encouragement and his caring embrace in addition to his pure soul serve to allow her to begin to gain control over herself. With each passing second, Kyla's inner strength and support from Clark allows her to dominate her skinwalker form and return to her Human state. Clark wipes her forehead clean of sweat just as she kisses him with great desire.
"Clark, I…I don't know how much longer I'll be able to control it." Kyla admits; she pants as a means of trying to catch her breath.
"Kyla, we'll find a way through this and I don't care how long it takes." Clark vows to her.
"Clark." Kyla lovingly puts her hand on his face. "Even if you are Naman, I don't want to hurt you."
"I won't ever leave you, you understand?" Clark touches her hand on his face. "Kyla, since the day I met you, the thought of you not being there went right out the window. I'm not God. I'm not even a god. But I will do everything in my power, whether I have it or not, to find a way for us to get through this. I…I…I love you, Kyla Willowbrook."
"I love you too, Clark Kent." Kyla releases a small tear of joy and kisses Clark once more.
"Ah!" Clark awakens in his bedroom. He finds that what he has just experienced is only yet another dream he had involving Kyla, whom has recently passed away. Still grieving over the loss of his first love and feeling guilty that he didn't strive to do more to save her, he silently cries.
