This just recently popped into my head and I felt I should publish it.

It took 8 years. 8 years to slowly break down the walls that Ziva had so carefully built. She learned emotion. She learned to love. And most importantly. She found her family.
But all it took was one man. One shot. One kill. To rebuild the defenses. She was driven only by the thought of revenge. The hope that she would be able to get back at the man who had killed her father.
Her training kicked in and she blocked out everything. The only thing on her mind was the obsession.
But she found him. She found the man who had caused the tragedy. She killed him heartlessly. No emotion showing on her cold face. She finally got her revenge.
She changed that night. Maybe for the worse. Maybe for the better. But she changed and once again they found themselves at the bottom. They had to start from scratch.
And maybe one day she will learn to love once again. Maybe she will learn to have emotion. Her training will never go away. But her will to live will strengthen. And with it, her will to rise once again.
