All of it is a blur

A shiver of fear ran down my body. I had felt this, I had seen this, and I had been here before. Something alerted me before I even saw the knife. Something as if I'd been here. This was crazy I thought. It was almost as if I had a sixth sense, and was able to sense everything before it happened. Jerking back to reality, I realised that I still had a long way to go before I was free of this. My stomach sank as I heard footsteps and heavy panting behind me. I hadn't lost my pursuers yet. Quickly surveying the environment full of tall sky rise buildings and businesses, I decided the best approach was to take the next right corner and head towards the shopping centre. That way, I thought, I could melt into the crowd of shoppers desperately trying to find themselves a bargain in the spring sales. Breaking out from the cover of behind the wall I started sprinting towards the corner.

"Oi you! Stop right there", a voice boomed behind me.

I ran faster and faster, my lungs felt like they were about to explode. I reached the corner, and slowed to a trot to avoid looking suspicious. With people around me now I blended myself in by walking straight into the area with the most people. Excellent, I thought to myself as I saw stalls ahead of me. There was a market just up ahead. A perfect opportunity to give my pursuers the slip I thought. As I approached I looked over my shoulder to see whether I had lost my pursuers.

I almost couldn't believe my eyes. They were barely one hundred metres behind me. I blinked. Surely not I thought. But there was no mistaking the three men who were tailing me. One broad shouldered with his head shaved and wearing a black trench coat, the second man tall and slim with a limp, and the third man wearing a camouflage jacket with a gun strapped to his waist. I swore savagely.

Adrenaline rushed into my body, sucking breaths of air in I started sprinting toward the cover of the market. Legs working up and down like pistons arms flailing wildly I dashed behind the cover of a stall. Wending my way between busy shoppers I tried to put some distance between my pursuers and I. A fat balding man stood in front of me and tried to stop me. I didn't have time for this. Hating myself for doing so, despite it being out necessity, I dropped my shoulder and rammed full speed into the man. He flew in the air before crashing into a jewellery stand. The markets flew into complete chaos. People ran around screaming. Here was the perfect chance to slip away unnoticed. As I did so I couldn't help feeling bad for causing complete chaos, back there. However I evaluated that my life was more important than a group of disturbed shoppers and a hurt man. Suddenly it dawned on me. I knew where I had seen this whole scene before. I knew as soon as I knocked over the balding man. Does that mean I can see the future? Or do I just have wierd dreams?
